I promise, I'm actually going to DLR this time!

That was an entertainment cutback that was discontinued abruptly last summer. It was known there was going to be cutbacks for entertainment and this was one that was announced, but they stopped adding the Dr. Strange Shows a couple of weeks before that announced end date and as far I have heard that was the end.

This is still there and runs very frequently and very easy to catch. It’s listed on the app under Entertainment as The Amazing Spider-Man! (which makes it sound like it might be a character meet, which he sometimes does stay and meet after, but not guaranteed).

Still working on my plans. It’s so great / odd that DLR is open until 11pm / 12am on a few of my dates. (Using historical and predicted hours)

It’s making me reconsider staying the fourth day…

That’s the fun part of Disneyland being more geared toward locals

I am used to those hours so whenever I plan for WDW, I’m like that is this crap of 9am-9pm (Epcot)? You can’t even take a midday break with that.

Well at least I can’t with my large family that takes at least minimum 2 hours for even a quick nap and we usually also give the kids time to decompress before/slowly wake up after and usually eat an offsite lunch/early dinner at some point in there so more like 4 hrs. It’s too much a time suck for shorter park hours than 9am-11pm.

What should be my “must do” after dark attractions? I’m hoping to see World of Color one night and fireworks another night.

Is Incredicoaster lit up? I’ve hear all of CarsLand is neat…

I think both parks at night are beautiful! Especially Carsland and Pixar Pier. I really like the projections on Main Street. Not sure if that only happens on non fireworks nights though. Definitely at least once catch Shaboom over at DCA at sundown if you can.

I especially love Incredicoaster and Radiator Springs Racers at night. I also love Emotional Whirlwind at night, while I’ve no interest in it during the day. In DL, I love Matterhorn and Thunder Mountain at night, as well as the Canal Boats. Walking along the back path to Racers in DCA is also great at night, with all the rockery lit up.

If you time it right, a night-time ride on BTMRR during fireworks is really amazing!

But then I’d have to ride BTMRR!!  :shark: :shark:

I’m gonna do it once at DLR just to check it off my list. However, it’s a ride I really don’t like at WDW due to the awful chain lift that gives me a migraine… :sob:

Really?! How sad! It’s such a great ride.

Earplugs?

IMHO - It’s not a good enough “coaster” for me to bother. It was great when I was like 8 years old. However, it’s soooo slow. I’ve been on it enough times, at WDW, to never “need” to do it any more. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m a fan of “bigger / faster” coasters like Tron, GotG, Space Mt. & such… (VelociCoaster, Hagrid’s)

I only ride 7DMT when the queue is under 30 minutes. I like that one for the show scenes in the middle and the cottage at the end.

I’m really looking forward to Knott’s for those types of rides!

I finally did TSA Precheck on Saturday and got my approval this morning! I don’t know why I thought it was going to be more of a hassle and more expensive thanit was. It took less than 10 minutes. All they wanted was my new “Real ID” driver’s license that I got a couple years ago and my birth certificate. They scanned my fingerprints and took my photo.

Now, I am done for the next five years!

Oh! My DW pointed out that my return date is Mother’s Day! I get home after 8pm!

She said she didn’t really care & we could celebrate it the following weekend. However, I know her family always makes a big deal out of it. I’m gonna have to see how important my presence there actually is to DW. I’m not gonna let DW’s mom and family make her feel bad because I was still in California on this “holiday”.  :shark: :shark:

Oh! DW did ask last night, “When are you leaving for your February UOR trip?” I had to remind her I’d already cancelled it!

You’re going to have a great trip.

I’ve canceled all of mine because I wasn’t getting excited about them.

OH NO!! I admit I’ve been dragging my feet on my DLR plans. I’m more excited about seeing new rides at Epic than repeating rides I was able to do a couple months ago - even at a “new to me” theme park.

I am trying to make sure I do enough “new to me things” to get me excited.

With these parks open so late and DCA being so small I am able to tour the parks in three days. I arrive on Monday, but not going into the parks. I have a couple off-site places I want to check out on arrival day.

With the plans I’m putting together today there’s a pretty good chance I’m gonna cut Saturday to make it home a day early.

I have something else booked that I am excited about. (I’ve paid 850 for it, so it better be, and flights took so many of my points.) It’s a trip to some national parks out west. I’m going with a friend, so it should be fun.

I’m starting to look at my day at Knott’s. I find the park map so over whelming. It’s too cartoon-ish and difficult to read.

Anyone know a good Touring Plan for a one day trip? It’s supposed to be a lighter crowd time, but I’m going to go ahead And get the fast pass anyway. It’s my "once-in-a-lifetime trip and every minute matters!

Also, any thoughts on the dining plan? It looks like you have to eat twice to get value. I’ll be there all day so that shouldn’t be an issue. However, are there enough “extra special” treats/foods that aren’t included that would make going al carte better?

I did find this awesome fan made spreadsheet on reddit! It’s not 100% complete, but a great start!

Looks like if I want a funnel cake or any special boysenberry treat I’ll be paying out of pocket!

Knott’s looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. There’s only about 12 - 14 attractions I want to do, so it seems very manageable in one day. I think it’s going to be a similar to when I did a day trip to SeaWorld a while back.

I am planning on doing a TR for this trip, but really want to dive into Knott’s when there. I wasn’t able to find much about the park or touring it here. IMHO - A Knott’s FAQ / Planning thread would be very helpful!

FreshBaked has a few Knott’s videos as does Theme Park Obsession.

YES!
And though AK opens early, it closes early a lot of the time, too.
I supposed it’s hard to get THAT many employees to all the parks at 8AM until 12AM. But I hate the shorter hours.
I think we will be at DLR next January and I’m already so excited.
