I can't figure out LLs on custom touring plans

Howdy friends, long time no see!

After a hiatus from the parks since 2021 - literally about 2 weeks before Genie+ went into effect was my last visit - I’m back planning a trip for May, tacked on to the end of a Disney Treasure cruise. But oh how things have changed since my last visit!

I’m trying to build out my custom touring plans, but I can’t figure out how to get the LL multipass stuff right. I see that you enable the multipass down below, but then are you essentially just guessing as to when you “hope” that you’ll be able to get a return window for attractions after your initial three? I’ve taken a look at the Thrill-Data Lightning Lane Sell Out Data, which is helpful, but not sure if that’s the best thing to base it on?

Also, sometimes, it will insert for me a note about obtaining my next LL:

But it doesn’t do this all the time for all the subsequent ones. What am I doing wrong?

Right now I’m working on HS, which will be my highest projected crowd day (currently at a 7) and also, since we’re getting off the cruise and having to move luggage to the Swan that morning, not a day I’ll be able to rope drop. Hoping to choose SDD, ASS, and TSM as my initial 3 picks, but then very much hoping to still be able to get LLMP returns for MFSS, TOT, RRC, and MMRR that afternoon/evening.

Nothing - it’s tricky and confusing and some of the bugs have me shrugging.

I usually make my plan without LLs. That way I’m not relying on them, but if I get them, that’s great, and I end up with more buffer in my plan. Basically, I try to get a LL for the attraction(s) that have the highest standby waits.

Or, if I think I know better, you can hard code which return times you get. Or put in a break for a specific amount of time rather than the attraction. Keep fiddling with it – trial and error is the best teacher.

This is what I currently have, though I feel almost certain that I’m being overly optimistic about being able to get all these LLs. Custom Touring Plan: Hollywood Studios

A couple of thoughts:

  • For pre-booked LLs, at least in theory, you can’t overlap by more than 20 minutes (in practice you may find it possible :man_shrugging:).
  • I recommend you get SDD, TSM, and ToT as your pre-booked, if possible. You should be able to get these times since they don’t overlap.
  • You may not see a 1:30pm ASS when you tap in to SDD, but you could just ride it standby if the wait is acceptable to you, or get one for later.
  • It’s ok for SP to overlap, so you should have no problem getting Rise for 2:00pm.
  • By the time you are booking your 4th + LLs, you may just have to play it by ear and see what times are available. On the days I have been, it has been possible to churn through all the rides in an afternoon / evening. But if you go on a busy day, maybe not. In any case, plan for the worst case scenario of only having three prebooked, then go from there.

Good luck!

It’s also worth bearing in mind the long grace period - so you can book a lightning line earlier than you expect to use it to then get rides close together with the allowed overlap. LLMP is 119 mins after expiration for a green tap. This gives a bit more flexibility when hunting for times
