Other than during the Park(s) open and close windows, the monorail is really enjoyable. Both loops (Magic Kingdom and EPCOT) provide some unique views of the property. If your primary interest is on the views, I would pass on the monorail and wait for the new skyway which will trump the monorail.
HOWEVER, when the monorail fails, it fails hard and Disney doesn’t seem to be able to muster a plan that can gracefully handle that fail. All trains on the loop halt … if your lucky and sitting in a station you can disembark and find another way … otherwise your stuck waiting for a tug to pull you to a station. Not a magical experience!
