We have a three night stay starting 12/1, and I would love any recommendations people have for places in town to get dinner.
I’m going to call the resort tomorrow ask what we can expect for activities off-season like this. If anyone has gone in the winter, I’d love to hear what people’s stays were like.
THANK YOU.
I will be there over my birthday. So somewhere fun for a dessert wouldn’t make me sad, either.
What kind of food/experience are you looking for? We went to the island this fall and tried a handful of places and found the food on the island to be overall very good.
If you’re looking for something close, Poseidon’s was a good meal. It is over behind the Kroger, a short drive or 1/2- to 3/4-mile walk from the resort.
We went to the Skull Creek Boathouse, which was fun. The kids really enjoyed it in particular. That was more or less back across the island.
My wife insisted we go to the Salty Dog Cafe, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and how nice the experience was overall. Expected a tourist trap but it was a nice, quaint low country experience and the food was excellent.
I texted my son and asked him about his recent experience with dining. He arrived on 11:1 for his mini honeymoon . He said: Jazz Corner was amazing, FARM is great if you are willing to drive 15 minutes off the Island into Bluffton, & Nunzio was a delicious Italian place we ate at on the Island last trip
Oh! They were not renting bikes at the resort, but the resort gave them a number and the company dropped off bikes for their trip and picked them up on the last day. They said it was the same price as the last time they were there and they rented at HH.
That’s a very clarifying question, actually! Thank you. We like most anything, but we wouldn’t choose sushi or a lot of options from Far East.
This is very freeing, TBH. Sometimes I get caught up trying to find “the best recommendation,” when really there are lots of things that would make us happy.
I will look up the menus for the three names you provided! That’s awesome!
While eating Italian on a coastal vacation may sound strange to some travelers, this is a brilliant suggestion! Thank you. Having lived 50 years in Western NY we had a lot of delicious Italian food over the years and it is much less prevalent in Upstate SC. I will look at all your suggestion menus, too.
Thank you! My girls saw me watching vlogs and asked about the bikes. I said I was not sure if we will do it with such a short trip, and they were disappointed. I wonder if we could take their bikes… hmmm.. Thinking out loud now.
