Hershey Park- onsite hotel question

Coming to the all knowing liners for help! My daughter has a soccer tournament in PA this June and I noticed it isn’t from from Hershey. Looking into booking a trip and wondering if staying at one of the onsite hotels is worth the price? In June a package with tickets would be about $500 per night where other hotels near by look to be about $220-$350 per night

We live 1.5 hours from Hershey and enjoy the park. We have season passes and have stayed at the Hershey Hotel in the past. I have found some good deals in June (especially early in June). Last year we did one night at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Hershey Chocolate Avenue and liked that hotel. It was a place to crash after two park days. I’m glad to share more if you have questions.

The two official resort benefits that could benefit you in the park are

  • Up to 3 extra evening hours-You get in three how before closing the night before. With our season passes we have not needed this.
  • 1-hour early access with Sweet Start- This is a nice perk. Not all rides are open but Candymonium was last year. We would arrive to the gates 30 minutes prior to the sweet start opening. I could walk on Candymonium first thing and get a number of rides done. Season pass holder also get in an hour early.

If you were looking to do many rides you could consider Fast Track. There is a option to do every ride once or to have unlimited rides. It could be cheaper paying for that and staying at a cheaper hotel.

We have not used the shuttles. The lodge is further away. I think it has more kids and an indoor small splash park. None are of the hotels are within walking distance. The Hershey Hotel is closest and has a nice outdoor pool with a few waterslides. The Hershey Hotel is a beautiful hotel with very nice restaurants.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

thank you! We would be there in early June. I will keep an eye out of discounts. I’m leaning towards staying at the official resort for the perks you mention. We would be there for just 2 days to the extra time may be worth it.

I also live an hour away from Hershey and have stayed at both the Hershey Hotel and the Hershey Lodge. Both provide you with free tickets to the Hershey Story and the Hershey Gardens (the latter of which is really quite beautiful and worth doing).

The Hotel has the Chocolate Spa and some great restaurants as well as a nice pool.

The Lodge has a couple restaurants and their indoor pool complex is super fun for kids. Slides and splash zones and a bar for the adults. They also do a bunch of kid activities every day.

I highly recommend either depending on age of your kids/group make up.

We went last summer - but did not stay on property. We were at a Holiday Inn about 20 mins away.

We still got in 2 hours the night before. It is 3 hours for on-site.

To add, we really loved Hershey Park! We had a 3 and 7 year old. There was plenty to do for both of them. We had a great time - we did go 2 hours the night before, were there at park open, took a midday break, and came back. We rode everything we wanted multiple times. It is a great park!
