Hi everyone,
Surprising update to the DW calendar has the fireworks at 10 and second parade at 11pm, with park closing at 11pm. I assumed the 2nd parade would be at 10:30. This opens up some post fireworks ride opportunities, especially for the thrill-seeking young adults in our party (son and his GF.)
Can any experts recommend a good fireworks viewing spot that would allow them to basically turn and get on a couple of “good” rides before showing up for the 11pm parade? I would love to have a couple of different options for different areas of the park, and they can choose what they want to target.
For example, where can they see the fireworks, and then head to BMTRR and Splash? Or, maybe where they can view them and then do SM and Buzz?
These are a couple of ideas. I still don’t quite understand what gets blocked off and how to navigate the post-fireworks restrictions, and I would hate for us to get caught on the “wrong side” of where we want to be.
They will be thrilled with this bonus late time for riding post fireworks. They may or may not watch the 11pm parade with us; perhaps they will instead choose a last minute ride. I would just love to be able to make a couple of suggestions for them.
This also might be a good time to ride Peter Pan. My son really likes it but we don’t prioritize it compared to the thrillers he prefers.
So, to simplify: we will watch fireworks at 10pm. They will try to do 2-3 rides and either watch 11pm parade or get in line for something right at 11. Any thrill ride fans have a favorite plan for this? Thank you!
Yes, the fireworks and parades are 1 hour apart.
Sorry, I can’t help with that. I like to be as far from the madding crowd as possible.
Remember, the first parade starts on Main Street, but the second one runs the reverse direction and ends on Main St.

If you go for main street between Casey’s and Plaza Ice Cream, you can make a game-time decision between Frontier land and Tomorrowland
If you only want to see the actual fireworks, don’t care about castle projections, and want to hit BTMR & TBA, being in Liberty Square is good
would it make sense to watch fireworks at 10, do BTMRR and TBA, and watch the 11pm parade from frontierland? also, I imagine it is quite challenging to get a spot by casey’s for the fireworks. do you have a suggestion about timing, etc.? I appreciate the patience. we never plan for this time of night, and haven’t prioritized fireworks or a parade in years, so I am definitely rusty. I am convinced I am going to have us on the wrong side of things at some point in this endeavor! (I guess I should look up the late parade route.) We don’t mind lingering after and not battling crowds on the way out.
Yes. That way you can leave once it’s passed you and make your way through the Emporium to exit the oak before the crowds. Or just enjoy the ambiance there and leave later.

It starts in Frontierland and heads to the hub and down Main Street.

I’d be a bit concerned you might be pinched for time. HEA is an 18 minute show (per Disney’s site). Then get to and on the two rides, then get to a spot to watch the parade before 11. I think you might only have time for one of the rides. But maybe I’ll be wrong, and you’ll be fast and lucky!
Thanks. That is what I am trying to figure out–what that 40 min period will be like. People seem to think it is easy to walk right up to the 2nd parade. It doesn’t have to be those 2 rides. I just kinda want to have a plan for that stretch of the night. I remember really flubbing it a while back (not being able to get to the part of the park we had intended, etc.) so I am hoping to redeem myself! I wonder if maybe doing a couple of fantasyland rides might be a good idea, since the littles will be in bed or leaving! If so, maybe watching fireworks from liberty square is the way to go. I will have to ask if anyone cares about the projections.
