This is our first visit to Orlando and we’re trying to pack things in. Over from the UK - 3 of us, two adults and a 13yr old daughter.
I appreciate we’ve left this a little late, but we’re due at Islands of Adventure on Saturday 3rd August.
The touring plan just doesn’t seem to make sense to us:
It has us with 7 hours of breaks before lunch and between lunch and dinner, then with Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Hogwarts Express - Hogsmeade Station coming after park closure…
I’ve tried adjusting the meal times & also our park hours, but it seems determined to keep that big break in the middle…
That’s one super weird plan.
The park hours (for the last two steps) aren’t even correct.
And even if they were, the Hogwarts Express won’t run if the studios are closed (which they will at 9pm).
Honestly, I can’t really help at all because I never do a touring plan for UOR. It’s such an easy park to just chill and do whatever you want to, for the most part.
Hagrids is really the only ride you have to plan for (unless you just want to stand and wait a couple of hours).
Touring plans are notoriously bad for predicting rope drop activities.
If you’re early enough at the taps (and Hagrid doesn’t have downtime), you’ll get to ride that with practically no wait.
Alternatively, hopping in line just before park close is often a good option.
Hope someone else can help figure out what’s going on with the plan code.
Thanks for the reply. Now I at least know it’s not just me. We landed in Orlando this morning - planning to start with Universal Studios tomorrow. The plan for that seems to at least make sense.
I have a super excited pair with me at the moment.
Forgive the lack of knowledge - taps??
From my reading, we’re planning on hitting the car park about 60 mins before park opening and following our noses from there…
The issue I see is there is a large chunk of time after step #5, Hogsmeade, and before your 1:30pm Mythos lunch
Then you have no steps after lunch until 8pm. That’s another almost 5 hours…
Manually move your steps around…
Also, you can’t ride the Hogwarts Express unless you have a “park hopper” ticket that will let you visit the other theme park
I’ve made you a plan that does everything you listed, except the Hogwarts Express. There’s a bit of extra time before lunch that’s not planned. This will give you time for unexpected stops.
There’s about 2.5 hours of unplanned time in the late afternoon. You could add in more attractions and you have time for more rest stops.
You also have more time after the castle show. You could ride Hagrid’s a second time and/or take a longer dinner break - just suggestions
