Hi, family of 5 (kids are 13, 5 and 2). Not huge fans of big crowds, even less of wasting an hour to stake a viewing spot. Does anyone know of a spot where we could see well and get there maximum 30 minutes before showtime ? It’s for next week. Was thinking of main street train station but apparently it’s often closed and you can’t see the projections. Middle of Main Street ? Other ?
It’s far from perfect for the projections, but I have sat on the wall right in front of dumbo and had the whole area pretty much to myself. It’s an extreme side view but for a spot with no waiting required, it wasn’t bad.
Also a side view but the area in blue tends to fill up last. NOTE: the area in red is a maintained free of standing spectators to act as a walkway.
That looks interesting, thanks !
First question - do you have ear protection for the 2 yo?
The congestion is massive. Well, maybe massive is more like. When the show is over there is no walking, only shuffling. Like sardines in a can.
IF you can pass on the projections and if you’re a fireworks family - like louder is better - our best experience was between the Carousel and Pinocchio Haus. It was like we were IN the fireworks (this was summer 2018) Not congested at all because folks want the story - music and pictures - and we just wanted sturm und drang.
IF you’d rather not have a 2 yo and a 5 yo in a massive crowd there is the boat dock at the Polynesian. We’ve usually watched the fireworks from here. Less crowd, more beverage or cool dessert. And, bonus, the Electric Boat Parade goes by the dock as it heads out on its loop.
I love talking photos of the fireworks as they reflect off the windows of the Contemporary Resort.
It’s Christmas tree season. The tree will impede your view.
Copying part of my post from another thread…
DD7 and I just last night stumbled into the best spot I’ve ever had for non-hub viewing. We weren’t planning to watch the fireworks but as they started we were at the stocks by the riverboat and just sat on the edge of the planter by the stocks to watch. There was almost no one around (relatively speaking) and we had an unobstructed view of the big bursts. Did I mention we also had a seat to watch from? Definitely will return there in future. And, we had a head start to attractions on that side of the park after.
