I had originally planned to take a trip 5/5-7, but some unexpected developments forced me to reschedule for late June. Well then there were some course correcting, and it turned out this week was good after all. I initially intended to stick with the changed dates, but then I decided to at least see if it was possible to get a room for 5/6-8 (I was trying this on Monday). If the dates couldn’t be changed except until a more expensive hotel, I wouldn’t bother. Well much to my surprise, I ended up being able to stay for even less money than I originally booked!
Wednesday night, the upper levels of CityWalk were closed for a private function, so I was back at the hotel much earlier than usual.
Today (yesterday) I spent the first half of the day at IOA. VelociCoaster first; the single rider on Hagrid’s opened up just as I got to the junction point, so that saved me an hour. The outdoor track at Skull Island was used, praise Jebus; now if only they can bring back the 3D and scare actors… It was unsettling seeing all the construction walls dividing Lost Continent, like a sense of finality settling in. Cat in the Hat went down just as I was getting in the queue – no big deal, I can do other things. Spider-Man went down just after I joined the queue – not leaving my spot; let everyone else quit, all the advances I’ll make will cancel out the delays. Thr only part of my Plan is skipped was the Hogwarts Express.
USF was even better. I completed my plan with over an hour to spare, and that was with a lot of re-rides too! I even had enough time to get back to IOA and ride Spider-Man again. Back at USF, Villain-Con broke down for the night just as I was prepping my phone to join the game. Oh well, what can you do.
