Geyser Point or Ale and Compass

I know they don’t fit the same filters, per se, but they both seem like decent contenders after a day of mini golf and water park. I have an Ale and Compass ADR, but it seems like Geyser Point may save a little money AND give more flexibility in arrival time.

I’d appreciate any thoughts, please and thank you.

Also, I was going to have four non-park dinners, but have since added MVMCP and will now just have three non-park dinners.
Arrival day we will just do Smokehouse at DS.
I will do either Geyser Point or Ale and Compass for the second.
The third was going to be Sebastain’s and the fourth was going to be eating at Three Bridges where we are staying at CSR.
I am thinking I will drop Sebastain’s so that we can eat where we are staying. Unless someone wants to talk me into Sebastians…

Thank you.

Not if it’s busy. Then you have to wait and that wait can be a long one depending.
If I were looking for post minigolf and water park I would be looking for a more guaranteed situation that a TS ressie would offer. And A&C isn’t all that expensive at all

It does but there is usally a wait. I really like it there. Outdoor seating is so nice in November. They have places to sit by the water while you wait for a table. Ale and Compass is nice too. I LOVE Yacht Club lobby area. You will wait less for your table and the seating may be a bit more comfortable. Price wise you might end up ordering more small plates at GP to bring the price closer to AnC.

From what I understand it’s decent food but not fantastic. It’s nice if you’re staying there though. I loved the corn dip at 3 bridges. We order some more after our meal!

Unless you order from their quick service window and then just take it to the tables by the lake. But yes, if you want to be seated actually in Geyser Point, it could take a while.

Is that always open? I didn’t think it was during our last visit. That was in… March I think.

Not sure- we went to it in June last time. I can see it possibly being closed during cooler months.

It wasn’t cool really. But it was around 8pm.

I would choose Geyser Point just for the ambiance. And after dinner you can hang around the lodge, sit by the fireplace etc.

We love Ale and Compass for brunch but when we tried it for dinner I really didn’t care for it at all. That was about a year ago. But, Sebastian’s is a huge favorite of ours! Always delicious. Don’t miss it!

The one time we tried Geyser Point it took forever to get our food and that was just carryout. May have just been a busy time. My recommendation would be to skip Ale and Compass and Geyser Point and do Three Bridges and Sebastian’s.

How would you arrive at Geyser Point? Since you cannot get an ADR (although there have been rumors of reservations since they changed out the tables) at Geyser Point, you will need to arrive by Disney transportation or take a chance of being turned away.

I have always loved Geyser Point, but I am afraid the Geyser Point I fell in love with when it opened, has slowly been fading away.

So much good information! Thank you all.

I didn’t word my “flexibility” point well. I was thinking that without a specific ADR time we could eat at 4PM… or 7PM… without being locked-in. The expensive part is relative, of course. I usually look at the least expensive meat-included meal for a guide.

I did not know this. And this, 100%, provides my answer. I didn’t realize you couldn’t just drive to other resorts. When we ate at Primo Piatta we arrived by Skyliner bc we were also just trying out the Skyliner. I hadn’t connected the “arrive by” feature.

As the second half of our stay is at CSR, I think I will just eat there the “third” resort dinner. I’ll need to choose commit to a time (ADR) for dinner, or choose flexibility and just eat at All Star Sports (our first half resort).

Ah. Well then yes a walk up is the way to go then

If you’re still thinking about Three Bridges, it is walk-up only, not ADR. I enjoyed eating there last December!

ETA: But maybe that remark was for your first half of your stay, in which case just ignore my comment. I see you plan this for your CSR stay.

We will definitely eat there as we are staying at CSR for the second five days of our trip.
I’m looking forward to it!

Some of the resorts are more strict. But I thought WL wasn’t that bad.

But I will say I don’t think you would have an issue walking up to A&C. You may have to wait for a table but this is true for GP as well.

WL is variable. Probably better than GF or Poly overall, but sometimes the guards are not easy to get past

WL gets real bad November/December. As a CCV owner, you can walk past multiple empty spots when you go to your car in the morning but then you have to search for one space at the end of the lot late afternoon/evening.

Oh that’s a good point too. They definitely tighten up at the holidays
