Getting from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness

What is the best way to get to Fort Wilderness from Wilderness Lodge if it’s raining and the water shuttle is down? And approx. how long would it take?

WL and FW share a boat. The boats run from WL to FW in the rain. Lightening may stop them. There is also a walking trail you could always use.

But OP wanted to know about alternative in case of rain.

For some reason my post dropped, so I edited it right away. The boats run in the rain.

Editing to add that in bad weather I have seen them add the larger boats ( more enclosed).
