My family is traveling to Disney next week and we have a 8:30 Garden Grill reservation. Early Entry is also at 8:30. We will be entering through international gateway. With the reservation will we be allowed to walk to Garden Grill before 8:30 Early Entry are will we be held at rope drop on the bridge. Plandisney says we will be let between 8 and 8:15 but I’ve seen posts elsewhere that say they were held at rope drop and told they have a 15 minute grace period for their reservation. Just curious what people’s recent experience has been. Thanks in advance!!

The last time that we were rope dropping Epcot we were among the first families right along the rope that they held at Canada. No fewer than 10 families approached a CM asking to get through to get to their 8:30 breakfast and the CM answered each one of them with “the restaurants know what time we open.” So I would not sent any expectations that you can get through the rope any sooner than when they drop it.

In my case it was a Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK, but the speech was basically the same and family after family were asking about breakfast reservations.

Okay, thanks for the info! Good to be prepared. It’s crazy that they schedule dining reservations at 8:30 when it is a good 10-15 minute walk (depending on speed) to the restaurant from international gateway if they aren’t going to let people in to get to them on time

They will still probably drop the rope before 8:30 but they don’t want to commit to it or let people through.
