Free kids dining hypothetical…

Thanks.

That must have been another thing then.

Did the kids have APs as well? This is admission after all. Maybe they just check for the adults? I would be interested in knowing. Not to take advantage of this- even if I had Disney kids. But it’s defiantly a buyer beware situation as no one has been able to actually use the free dining perk yet. Disney can and will change and cancel if you aren’t entitled to what you booked.

Yeah this is not a date-based offer. Often times they are. But the kids eat free in 2026 is a blanket “gift” for the whole year.

Easy enough to get confused.

Believe me or don’t. I’m not going to argue about it.

If they’ve f***d up and specifically allowed DVC members to add it for kids at no cost when they shouldn’t have, then that’s a major :poop: show. It means someone high up signed off on it specifically, because DVC has its own booking system.

Yep, this is me logged in. I don’t have any tickets.

@Nicky_S where do you see the language that says you have to have tickets to get the kids free dining?

I believe it’s @drvillarejos who had seen the ticket language.

This is what I see for my TA guidance on this offer:

So it just says a room and the dining plan. It doesn’t call out a need for tickets. You can have a ticketless package in other words. But I’m concerned that you are seeing language that says you do need tickets somewhere.

Is it possibly different “across the pond”?

Oh, then maybe I need to be asking @drvillarejos ? Not @Nicky_S ?

I went back to re-follow the thread, and I do see that the language around how to get the offer is confusing and suggests that you need tickets. But the TA guidance doesn’t reference that (see below for guidance in its entirety), and it’s never been advertised as “with tickets”

I’m saying the exact opposite of that. :woman_shrugging:

Sorry I got lost along the way. I clarified. I understand that it was @drvillarejos who was asserting that tickets are required

Wonder if this is allowed because of the separate booking system (glitch). But it might not be just for DVC… I’m not disputing your claim. Just questions that follow. Since the wording suggests the intention is for you to have tickets.

I don’t see it specifically one way or the other. Just the wording that if you already have tickets you need to call to book.

I is me, but just what I’ve posted above. Online you can book with tickets. If you have tickets you can call. I don’t see tickets as a requirement. Since DVC can do it, it could be a possibility that an standard room booking can as well. It just seems odd that the wording states you can buy with admission online. If you already have admission you need to call. Just seems very specific wording to me.
I don’t have a 3-9 year old that I would consider adding to a reservation to call and see if they would let me book the free dining with just a room (no admission to the theme parks). I guess I could for science, but busy today.

That is why I’m questioning it. No longer TA bound for me. Couldn’t check that out. But I did try to log on, lol. Access denied.

Tell you what

I’m gonna call right now and do a fake booking and specifically ask the question of do I need to include tickets to get free dining. Because I’m certain that you do not but I’ll go through the process just to demonstrate it clearly.

Haha! Great. Thank you. The wording is really throwing me off. It’s just very specific. But there isn’t anything stating you HAVE to have tickets. Maybe it’s ambiguous on purpose…

So I created a trip for a woman and a seven-year-old boy traveling April 18 to the 26th at grand Floridian on a ticketless package with the Disney dining plan

I specifically asked if the rate was a discounted rate also included the free dining for the child and she said absolutely even though it is a discounted rate it’s still includes that

Then I specifically asked if it was OK to not be attaching tickets and she said absolutely no problem with that and the package that I have put on hold is under the rules of packages versus room only

So the end result is you do not need tickets to get free dining for the child on a ticket list package that is booked in 2026

if you read further down it does say that you do need theme park tickets if you’re gonna be dining in any of the theme park restaurants. Perhaps that’s where the confusion has come in?

Either way, I’m glad we’ve cleared that up this afternoon

Follows logic. So I guess Disney is intentionally being misleading with
