Our 40th wedding anniversary is next October. DH suggested WDW, but I want to wait until some of the construction is done before going back again. So then he said “or any Disneyland”. I countered with “Efteling” (Netherlands). He pointed out we could do both. Then it got complicated. The bucket list also includes (in France): Parc Asterix, Puy du Fou, and Guédelon. Five locations plus travel time between them sounds like a bit much. Other than Disneyland, have you done any of the others? I’m thinking each one would be a full day plus 3(?) days for Disney?
The list for easier reference:
Efteling - definitely
Disneyland - definitely
Parc Astrix - maybe
Puy du Fou - maybe
Guédelon - maybe
The first two are on my bucket list as well! I think you could do Disneyland Paris in 2 days (never been but that’s what I’ve mostly read). So 3 days is definitely doable. I would want 2 days at Efteling but when I’ve planned it in my head, I’ve only given it 1 full day and 2 nights.
How long is the trip?
Also going to toss out Europa Park. I’ve been considering a similar trip starting at Europa (fly into Basel or Strasbourg), then train up to Phantasialand, Eftling and then ending at DLP.
I haven’t been to Paris; DH went on a business trip. Honestly, I could skip Paris but he wants to go. I also figured if we tour Paris I’ll have a bit of time to recover from jet lag before visiting the parks.
I can often be guilty of the mulitple 1-2 night stops on a trip but they always get old after a while. I would do Efteling, Amsterdam, DLP and Paris and call it a trip!
He really wants to do Puy du Fou; otherwise, I’d skip it this trip. Parc Asterix is about an hour from DLP so it seems logical to hit both in the same trip. Yeah, I’m not thrilled with the constantly moving hotels aspect of the plan. We’re still in the very early planning stages.
