She sent me this site and it was very easy. I submitted the form last night around 7pm and got an email around 9am this morning with payment information. I paid and they confirmed receipt but I’m waiting for the owner to do a 3-way call with MS to actually transfer the points. I hope they call me tomorrow!

I submitted a DVC rental store request as well but they don’t have an owner yet anyway so I’d be waiting either way.

The nice thing about transfer points is that they are now yours to use just like your own points. You can bank them. Someone can even transger a future UY points, so you can barrow too.
I’ve done two transfers 1 from someone here, one from the now-defunct mouse owners,. There is also a facebook group too.
The rental store is nice because a third party is taking responsibility. But in order to make the transfer, both owners have to be on a call with MS.

These particular ones are already banked so I think that’s why they may have been a little cheaper. But that’s fine by me, they are good until next October.

They just started letting people transfer banked points, so that is probably why!

I went back and re-read this thread.
We are new owners and are going to bank our 2025 points to use in 2026. We will have a few points left over after we reallocate the 2025 points to our existing 2026 reservation. We will likely not be able to use these few points and won’t be able to bank them again. Is there a place within the forum where members can offer to privately sell/buy and transfer small amounts of points? I don’t want to just let them expire.

I had a personal mishap where I used current points instead of banked points and was going to lose them but I was able to rent them to a Liner!

That’s interesting. I booked our 4/26 trip (first DVC trip) with points that will be loaded on 2/1/26. MS assured me that if I don’t use my 2025 points before the banking deadline (9/30/25), I can bank them and ask that my banked 2025 points be “reallocated” to my 4/26 vacation, thereby freeing up my 2026 points to be banked into 2027.
Was that reallocation option not available to you?

If you have an existing reservation that was booked during the home resort period, you can only reallocate points from the same home resort.
Otherwise it would be an easy way to circumvent the home resort advantage.
Of course it could also be that @melcort10 only realised her mix up after their stay.

I’m a little confused as to why you didn’t use the oldest points first already? Isn’t this your first trip?
My issue was exactly as @Nicky_S noted, I didn’t realize that I hadn’t used the banked points until well after the trip when I went to bank the other points. I thought it would be an easy fix but multiple supervisors were adamant that they couldn’t do anything after the points were “spent.” I find that difficult to believe but no one could fix it.
Part of the issue also seemed to be that I modified my reservation but when you look at the history it shows cancel and rebook. I had no real way to prove that I only modified and somehow they refunded me banked points and not current ones.

Oh, I see. I didn’t realize that @melcort had already traveled. So, in my case, my 4/26 trip is at my home resort. So, no problem with the reallocation, correct? MS told me I would have to request this reallocation at least 31 days before my trip.
My family is considering a late fall 2025 trip and we were/are planning on waitlisting something. If it comes through before 9/30/25 (my banking deadline), we will use the 2025 points for that trip. MS advised me that it would be better to book our 4/2026 trip with 2026 points, then bank and reallocate if necessary. If I booked with 2025 points, then I would have to borrow from 2026 if we traveled in the fall of 2025.

I don’t think I ever reported back to @melcort10 we absolutely LOVED the GF resort studio rooms. They are beautiful, super functional and the location of Big Pine Key is convenient to absolutely everything. I am so glad I got to try it!
