When we were there in January I told my son, as we passed by the solar farm, that it was a hidden Mickey. He didn’t believe me and kind of scoffed. So I told him to check it using Google Maps…and there it was.

No longer applicable due to numerous changes to the park, but when Disney’s MGM studios first opened, the largest Hidden Mickey was the park itself, which you could see when you flipped the map upside down.

We were told about this by a CM on the Great Movie ride while the ride stopped for a prolonged period of time. She had is get out our park map and see for ourselves

I found this picture taken from the map in 1989 I think which shows it…

If you look at a satellite view of the park today, you can kind of see how it could have once looked more Mickey-ish, if you squint just right.

This is so cool to see! I first went to Disney decades ago, but then took a long break before my next visit.
By the time I went back, everything had changed, and I never really got the chance to memorize the maps or anything. Sometimes I rack my brain trying to remember - what was it like in the early 2000s?
It’s kind of sad that it’s all a blur. :pensive:

I missed out on so many years of Disney!!
