My favorite part is the cotton tails in the morning! And all of the shady trees. I haven’t stayed in a cabin yet.

We are looking forward to it…much different type of resort stay but I thinknit will be a nice change. Plus our dog can come along! And since we will be there in hot august…the many trees will be helpful lol.

Mid day breaks in the cabin with the dog would be wonderful. It’s nice to have a kitchen for meals and snacks. Plus the extra space to hang out is nice.
I really love Fort Wilderness. We don’t have an RV anymore and renting one plus the nightly rental adds up. I do want to get back there soon though. Its suposed to be super fun around Halloween and Christmas.

It does add up tho when I’ve priced each, I don’t feel the price is as inconceivable as a Wilderness Lodge room for the same time frame. With the RV and the site you get a “full” kitchen and chairs for your site’s patio. Of course the golf cart to ride around checking Halloween decorations is pricey.

Oh, I meant to add, every time I’m ready to do the RV/campsite route my sister winds up finding a DVC to exchange into. Sorry, campground. :smirk:

I think it’s a good option when a studio room isn’t convenient. They have some nice 2 bedroom trailers out there for rent from 3rd party companies.

Can they deliver to FtW?

In 2004 we had a 2 br 36 ft trailer, if memory serves, delivered to a second site we rented in loop 800. We had our RV on the first site, across the loop road. Lately I thought Disney has been limiting who can deliver.

They have a list of preferred vendors that can deliver without you present. If you use other companies you have to be present and escort the vendor to your site.

We don’t have a trailer either but we are strongly considering one. I never even thought to rent a trailer that is an interesting option. Especially if you can get 2 bdrm for a decent price.

mid $200’s a night but it’s stocked with plenty of stuff and pretty hands off. They have cheaper options as well. But for the largest units they look to be about $250 a night.

Not bad at all!

You do have to add Disney’s campsite rental fee. And sometimes that can be over $200 for the good spots. But over all not a bad deal- especially for a family with more than a couple kids.

That’s our biggest issue. We have 3 kids and two are teenage girls. Space is a must. We have been doing 2 rooms at a moderate. Our other options are suites or 2bdrms dvc so neither girl has to share a bed with their brother…they def won’t share with each other lol. Those are pricey options….the cabins were cheap in comparison when we got a discount. Renting an Rv isn’t far off.

No it’s not. And it’s kinda fun! I was looking through the options and I saw one that had a bedroom, bunk room and a 3rd kinda closed off room plus the living areas. Thats pretty nice for everyones privacy. You can also do smores and roasted marshmallows. For the holidays people decorate. I’ve been wanting to go for one Halloween. Couldn’t find availability for THIS Halloween though.

I hear it is harder to book around Halloween…Halloween week happens to be my favorite week to go to WDW in general. I am holding onto the rv link you posted for next time. If my kids like it there we will be back

Looking through them again the Tiana is a 3 Bedroom! For $259a night that really decent. 2 full bathrooms. Man I want one of those, lol.

I looked up Meachams - I think a 30 - 36 foot model - which had a bedroom with a queen and a bunkroom with 4 beds, the full kitchen, camp pkg with chairs for your patio for 6 nights in September which showed a price of about $1330 probably not incl tax. A regular site (not preferred) was about another $700, again, probably not including tax. A golf cart would likely be at least half your site rental.

There will be Halloween decorations up in September as well as Mickey’s Not So Scary on certain days.

You can find smaller RVs for less tho 30 - 36 is not huge. Meacham may be able to set up without your being present. Which could be handy if your travel is delayed.

If you’re giving the RV idea thought, rent a campsite now. One night deposit. Generous cancelation policy. If after research you decide against FtW.

I’ve never camped anywhere with better bathhouses.

Great info….I like that don’t need to set anything up. Definitely considering this for next year.
