Foot Golf Dress Code

We have reservations for tomorrow at the Oak Trail Golf Course foot golf experience. I just got a reminder update from them with lots of additional info about how to play the course according to standard golf rules and then a lot of specific info about dress code that was not in any of the documents they sent me to sign when we made the reservation. At that point it said is recommended men should wear knee high socks and flat caps, no denim shorts allowed but athletic wear would be okay, and no shoes with cleats. We thought they were kind of kidding about the knee highs. Has anyone done this and had any issues with standard Disney vacation wear? We obviously won’t wear cutoffs, Daisy Dukes and wife beater shirts but there isn’t one polo shirt with a collar to be found in our suitcases.

@JustKeepSmiling has done it but she’s not around much. If you search foot golf you might find her trip report with pics of what they wore.

That sounds more formal and restrictive than actual golf dress codes are. I’ve seen photos of folks doing it and it’s very casual dress. I probably wouldn’t wear short shorts or tank tops, and definitely not swimwear, but aside from that I would wear what you feel comfortable wearing and definitely not kneehighs

I remember this weird language! It threw me off too. At the time I called and was told it was not necessary. As shown in the pics, my kid just wore athletic shorts.

Don’t know if it still works this way, but when we went, we got a cab voucher to get us to the course. Might be worth asking about if you need transportation.

Have a great time!!

Interesting timing, here’s a new blog from DisneyParksBlog about all kinds of golf activities at WDW. They say “proper golf attire” and “no denim” on all the regular courses. Lots of photos of people, including one woman in a tank top with spaghetti straps.

I know this is probably too late for you, but this seemed like a good place to post this.

Thank you, it def made us feel better to see those photos! And to see him obviously having such a good time since part of the group was skeptical :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks all for the helpful information. For future reference, here’s a few photos showing the various wardrobe choices of our group. I had forgotten the Stitch button downs we packed! LOL

As to the experience itself, we had a fun time to the great surprise of some non adventurous family members. Though we had three soccer players they didn’t seem to have a great advantage. Luckily it was an overcast evening so not as unbearably hot as the day had been.

It wasn’t as formal as the emails sounded. The course staff members were all wonderful. The course is a wildlife protection area and the person who started our group shared interesting facts about the black bears, bobcats and alligators. The foot golf course opens at 5:15 and they try to time things so there are no regular golfers playing at the same time.

A unique and enjoyable experience that I bet we will do again. I heard people saying “we need to practice next time before we come”

P.S. Will come back later and add photos as I can’t figure out how to do it on my iPad.

Lately with my iPad I have to go to my photos, copy, then paste in the thread.
