Firework/Nighttime show favorites

Of the different firework/nighttime shows with meal or dessert party options, which ones are your favorite? I would like something for my timid niece 9 one night. We will be traveling 1st week of February. She is more of a morning person so I want to limit this to a single nighttime event after an afternoon nap.

I’ve never done any so no advice. I just wanted to say hi, where have you been stranger?!

I think that if you are only doing one with a 9yo, then I would do Happily Ever After. Fantasmic is my favorite because it has seats and such but it has some scary parts. Luminous was kind of boring according to my 9 year old!

I would choose Fantasmic. I agree that Fantasmic and HEA are significantly more impressive than Luminous, and that Fantasmic has an edge because everyone gets a seat (which means no one really has a bad view and it just feels more relaxed/well organized than other night time shows).

HEA is amazing, but can feel stressful because it gets very crowded and I think the Fantasmic dining package offers much better value than HEA parties (and you waste less park time having to check in before the official start time). For a 9-year old, I don’t think you can go wrong with lunch or dinner at Hollywood & Vine, which has great character interactions and a good buffet that accommodates any palate. If you don’t want to do characters, I am sure she would also have fun with the theming at either SciFi or 50s Prime Time.

If she does manage to stay up until fireworks on your MK day and you don’t want to face the crowds in the hub, I highly recommend watching fireworks from Fantasyland (near the walkway to Beast’s castle). You can’t see the castle projections but you’ve got the music accompanied by blasts in front of you and behind you which makes it incredibly immersive, and there’s tons of space to run around/sit or even dance. Some nights the princesses come out and visit with guests in this area (including around/on the carousel), which brings an extra touch of magic!

Happily Ever After is the best nighttime show. We enjoy the HEA dessert party. The desserts are only so-so but it’s worth it for us to not have to worry about getting a good location.

Fantasmic is nice, but I prefer the one in Disneyland. We have done the dinner package at Hollywood Studios to get priority tickets and it’s ok if you want to eat at HS anyway but the restaurants there are not our preference and I didn’t think the seating was anything special.

My kiddo loves the night shows so we take afternoon rests and prioritize them.

Waving frantically! Hi. I took a long break due to a number of factors but I am BACK now!

I decided to add one nap day and one extra night time show! Thanks for this suggestion on naps. Even non-nappers are usually tired enough at Disney to sleep.

Adding on F! Fingers crossed. We will do MK fireworks and a few days later F! With a nap that afternoon. Hopefully she makes it,

I think you will love them both! There is a small scary part in the middle but just remind her that it’s Mickey’s dream and all will be well! Then you have all the princesses on boats at the end and she’ll love it!

Agreed! We do most Disney days with a mid-day rest/nap. Morning through lunch at a park, rest/nap/pool, dinner and evening rides at a park. I’m sure your niece will have a wonderful time!
