Favorite HEA Fireworks spot?

Our time is coming!! What is your favorite spot suggestion for fireworks in magic kingdom for first timers? It will be a Saturday with crowd level 6. We will be finishing dinner at liberty tree around 7-715ish with fireworks scheduled at 8pm. I was thinking to go grab a spot and send husband and kids to hall of presidents. Is it hard to “save” spots for husband and 2 kids? Would they be able to make their way back? We will want to go do more rides after and not get stuck in the crowd of people leaving the parks for the night

It might be a bit challenging

I would bring everyone with you right after dinner and aim for a spot just by the Partners statue in the middle of the hub. I don’t always recommend that, but for a first time you should see it from the best vantage point possible!

The hub at fireworks time can truly be hell, jam-packed with testy people. Depending on how soon the rest of your family gets there, you may have trouble saving enough room. As it gets close to time, they literally may not be able to a) find you and b) get to you because the CMs will start directing everyone who is walking in away from the hub toward Main Street. I would have everyone there with you at least 30 minutes before the show. Definitely for first-timers it’s worth the time commitment to watch from the hub.
However, DD7 and I just last night stumbled into the best spot I’ve ever had for non-hub viewing. We weren’t planning to watch the fireworks but as they started we were at the stocks by the riverboat and just sat on the edge of the planter by the stocks to watch. There was almost no one around (relatively speaking) and we had an unobstructed view of the big bursts. Did I mention we also had a seat to watch from? Definitely will return there in future. And, we had a head start to head to rides on that side of the park afterward.

I wouldn’t risk it.

When we were there in March, my wife and I got to the Hub roughly an hour early. At some point (maybe 30-45 minutes before the show), they made a PA announcement that the HUB and MAIN STREET were at capacity that they weren’t letting other people in. Now, you could think this was just what they say…but…there was a group behind us on the phone with another part of the group they were trying to meet up with at the hub. They kept telling them where there were…but ultimately, the folks on the other end of the phone call said they weren’t being allowed in. This was about 30 minutes before the show. They never could join up.

I can’t say how common this is. But it is what happened for us.

Now…COULD you save a spot? Maybe. And maybe it would work…but if it doesn’t? What then?

This shouldn’t be a problem…although you will need to put on your patient hat, as my wife likes to say, while the crowds disperse. Doesn’t take as long as you might imagine.

Something to consider … how old and tall are your 2 children?

10 and 11 years old. We are all first timers. Now I’m thinking it might be worth it to claim an early spot by the railing

@JJT has a link for a good spot by a railing in one of his trip reports

The big question for this technique is always How long before the fireworks do I need to stake this spot out?

It has been years since I’ve done it, so will need some more recent opinions than mine, methinks.

Here’s my post on the hub spot:
