I’ve never watched Fantasmic at Disneyland. If say Monday October 24, what’s the latest on how long before showtime to look for a decent viewing spot?

If you get a dining package through Hungry Bear (cheaper) or Blue Bayou (expensive), you can arrive up to 15 min before but 30 is better. If you are just coming in standby, I would come no later than 30 min before, maybe 45-60 if you want a good spot. People sometimes stake out the best spots hours in advance.
You can get a better spot with less wait if you go to the 10:30 showing vs 9:00.
