How does the extra evening hours work if you are staying a deluxe resort? My understanding is that access is included with a deluxe hotel. Do you have to do anything or does a magic band already know you have access?
They scan your magic band before you enter the attraction queue.

For an extra evening hour day would you buy a LLMP or rely on lighter lines after hours?
My experience is the lines for headliners are still pretty significant even during deluxe hours, so I will typically use LL to hit those earlier in the day and use extra hours for second tier rides and/or just getting to explore the park with less crowded cooridors.

For EPCOT the evening hours do not cause a significant drop in times because the lack of attractions. You also can’t get to very many because of the size of the park. I would buy LL and then count on the extra hours for a couple of rerides.
For Magic Kingdom, on lower crowd days, I think the EE are fantastic and so much fun. You aren’t going to be able to walk onto Tron, but you can get a 25 min wait on SM or 7DMT. I have rope dropped, left after 3 hours and then come back 2 hours before EE and been pretty happy with what i was able to do at MK
My only experience with AK was during a crowd level 10 day. We were able to ride EE over and over again with no more than a 5 min wait, but FOP never dipped below 90 mins. We left the park after the first hour. My understanding is that is more like 45 mins on a lower crowd day, dipping to maybe 30 towards the end of the time.

I agree with previous posters. For my last trip during Spring Break, I was glad we had both LLMP and Extended Evening hours especially at EPCOT. We were able to ride everything we wanted without much waiting. I might consider skipping LLMP at MK if crowds are light.

We actually did the After Hours event and early entry without LLMP. We had no problem getting everything in. Walked right onto Space Mountain and Tron. We left MK at midnight to an almost empty Main Street. We were exhausted because we roped dropped and walk almost 12 miles. Very cool and would do it again in a second.

We also had great After Hours event experiences in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. They are far superior to the deluxe evening hours for sure and well worth the extra cost in my opinion!
