I didn’t pay that much attention, but I don’t remember seeing much that was shuttered. I could not find official menus, but you can google and find restaurant reviews that list some/most of the offerings.
Wow thanks for all the info. Would you say any of the rides are really intense besides stardust? I’m ok with Hagrids. Are any more intense than Hagrids? I don’t like going upside down. I won’t be doing the flying one in berk.
Are any of the seats especially uncomfortable? I’m nervous about breaking down and being stuck in the sun with my elderly dad or in some uncomfortable position. The rides are so new I don’t even know what to expect. I was stuck on Hagrids a couple times and it was pretty scary haha.
I wouldn’t say that anything is more intense than Hagrid’s. The werewolf one is super fun, but on the intense side. No upside downs I don’t think. Stardust racers is more cork screwy than plain upside down. It does have a double launch at the beginning, and I was trying to follow the advice to keep my head against the head rest, and ended up banging it hard twice. So on the subsequent rides, I held my head off the headrest. you actually have to work really hard on the flying one in Burke to go upside down. I think only one or two of the seats even have the capability to spin all the way around. You can not move the wings at all and just stay upright, no rocking or anything. I don’t remember anything being super uncomfortable, but I also wasn’t trying to pay attention to that.
You are fortunate you didn’t get a picture of this moment. Trust me. ![]()
That unicorn is gonna haunt you for life! You’re gonna need to have both the picture and the unicorn at her wedding ![]()

Can’t wait to see your model predictions for Epic U. Such a fun part of planning our trip, for me anyway.
Any update on a timeline for release?
Any day now. We’re waiting for one issue on the app to be resolved. When that’s done we’ll release the new rope-drop flag, on which all of the touring plans are built.
Did you happen to see the Bsky post I did with the first plan?
Fantastic news Len, thank you so much for the quick reply! I did see the bluesky draft plan and I’d love to see those wait times for our June 13th date, but I’m expecting large crowds and preaching family patience. First Friday the 13th in park history, what could go wrong? ![]()
Assuming Battle at the Ministry is still operating on virtual cue, do you have any insights as to how many drops they’ll have vs previews (still just 11am, 3pm, 6pm)?
Ministry is a total guess right now.
The ride is supposed to handle around 1,800 guests per hour. As of last week they were at 600/hour.
They’ve not once run a full day at 1,200/guests per hour.
So there’s a ton of work to be done there.
That’s wow. Isn’t it going to be closed for a bit, hopefully opening back up by opening day?
Yep - it’s closed from this past Saturday through this coming Friday, re-opening Saturday hopefully.
Since park hours (and the hours a guest is a the park) influence touring plans and wait times, how do you account for the uncertainty of park hours beyond June?
Edit to add: We also don’t have historical park hours to help make an educate guess like we do with other parks.
We’re going to assume 9 am to 9 pm for now, I think.
Does anyone have wisdom about the Epic Universe Crowd Calendar? I’m sure it’s hard to tell. But, I looked at May 22nd today and it listed it as a 7. The entire month of May is 6,7, 8s. I was assuming that these days will be 10. I thought maybe they had not been updated. But, maybe this is purposeful? Maybe they are saying that though tickets are sold out, the capacity is limited?
Fred Hazelton (one of the data scientists at TouringPlans) just today posted their thoughts about the opening days of Epic Universe. In short, they are making an assumption that the park will only open at slightly past half capacity, and that is why they are predicting crowd levels of 7 to 8 throughout the summer. They will be making frequent adjustments as more data is collected.

Thank you for pointing me to the post. Great timing!
When will the rides and shows be available in the app to create plans involving Epic U?
- You can just hold still on this one…you don’t have to rotate…you control that part. I have arthritis, so I couldn’t grip the handles tight enough to rotate. My friend went all the way around, I enjoyed just sitting there!
I found the werewolf ride to be the most uncomfortable. It felt like my legs were squished up towards me and I have short legs! But, the ride is so short, it doesn’t really matter.
I made the mistake on Stardust Racers of looking at the train next to us while we launched (they’re side by side, why wouldn’t I!?) I tweaked my neck so badly!
