Uh oh ![]()
Yikes, I hadn’t heard this. I hope for everyone’s sake that it’s just a rumor! I don’t feel like it’s a great look to open the park and charge full price to not be able to experience the entire park!
There were rumors only a couple months back that suggested Universal was AHEAD of schedule for Epic and could open sooner than originally anticipated!
Is there any reason to believe these rumors have more bite to them?
And IF they are try…any guesses as to which land would be delayed? I would think Nintendo is safe, since it is more or less a clone…but then, I wonder if they could mean JUST Donkey Kong Country, but open the reset of Nintendo.
Only because Len and Jim are well connected. But it seems like there is still time for Universal to throw more money at the problem and open on time.
Maybe Harry Potter? I don’t know, they all look about as far along to me.
Yeah. So…perhaps issues with part of the land we CAN’T see…construction of the ride mechanism? So, that would narrow it MOST LIKELY to the Ministry of Magic ride, or the Frankenstein ride. Perhaps the Mario Kart ride???
That is not acceptable.
That is wildly not acceptable. That’s like the nonsense Disney pulled when they opened SWGE without ROTR.
I thought the same thing. I went to Disneyland’s SWGE when just MFSR was open and it was mind-blowing, but honestly it didn’t pack the same punch without RotR being there. It was, and felt like, half a land.
On the other hand, might it be a clever way to control crowds? Some people will be put off attending Epic Universe if one of the portals is closed. But many won’t.
I had thought of that as well. Doubt it is that intentional…but could be an added benefit.
But either way, it means our plan to wait until January 2026 might not burn through the initial crowds as much as we had hoped.
Yeah… I listened to it on my way to work. While I’d be upset if I came to Epic and one of the lands was closed, it would make sense to just get it open ASAP… especially since the Portals make it easier to close off a section of the park
I’ve been trying to figure out which land it might be!
SNL has been built twice already… It’s almost following a template & looks on schedule from photos
Berk seems like it’s a coaster & a couple off the shelf rides
Celestial Park has been testing Stardust Racers for a while
That leaves Dark Universe & Ministry of Magic…
There’s so many reasons one of these might not be ready. Both are pretty ambitious!
I wonder how many people are doing this. Will EU open to zero crowds like SWGE did because everyone’s waiting for the crowds to die down.
My plan is to go in 2026, too, though later than January.
I’m looking at early Feb. when weather is nicer & crowds have been lower the last couple years. I’d still expect Epic to be super busy, but not as much as when school is out for breaks / summer
I gotta nip this in the bud. I hate EU as an abbreviation. EU is already well-known, and Epic is pretty darn short already.
There is a chance that we might postpone our Feb 2026 trip if it looks like it still might be bonkers. Although, a postponement would put DD into the driving age and I remember life-business ramping up around then. I’ve been taking full advantage of DD’s golden age of family vacations, where she is old enough to be an amazing companion, and young enough to still like her folks. I’d hate to postpone a vacation into the “I’m too busy” zone.
I am planning to go next summer, 2025, if it is open then. My seasonal pass will expire the end of August 2025, so I’m going to UOR either in June or August regardless!
I’m renewing my pass…please don’t tease me too much! I am planning on going in February knowing Epic won’t be open. However, if they allow APs and it’s open while my AP is active I may try to go!
I’m looking at Decemeber 2025. Week afyer Christmas so I already know it will be packed!
Who else is crazy excited for the announcement today?? ![]()

Are we admitting this out loud now?
