Epic Universe News & Planning Thread

Our Epic day is tomorrow and it’s very likely that Gregg won’t be able to go due to illness. Not going to be a great day without him. And his ticket was $199!

I would stop by guest service.

Any reports since it reopened about changes? It was it just invisible maintenance?

Verrrry interesting, especially the “speculation” toward the end. I’m not familiar with this channel, does it have a good reputation? I’d love to see some of these guesses proven out. If Universal is anywhere near this ambitious, it could be a vacation kingdom that truly rivals WDW.

Alicia Stella is one of the few Universal experts. Most of the videos in this thread, which is 4 years old are from her brand, Theme Park Stop.

OK, so I’ve been watching her videos all along, but I don’t pay attention to the brand.

It’s now running four trains on each track with more metal detectors.

Great data on the impact of Stardusts reopening:

This Epic Universe Strategy Guide is very helpful.

One thing that I noticed is the Mine-Cart single rider line is supposedly a 10-30 minute wait most of the day. Does anyone know if Touring Plans has any data on this?

I thought their stuff was helpful for our trip preparation.

Has it always had a single rider line? Is that the only Epic attraction with single rider?

Aneira said that there was a SR line for the werewolf ride the other day.

Yes, I think so.

No. Ministry of Magic, Monsters, Werewolf, Mario Kart, and Stardust Racers all have single rider lines in addition to Mine Cart. They aren’t always open though.

I’m ready to buy the multi-day express including Epic from Undercover Tourist. Do I scan it each day I want to use it? I want to use the days only when at Epic because we have the hotel passes for the other parks, but I’m worried after my first Epic day it might automatically take a day away when I go through express lanes at the other parks….

This could be an issue, as most of the time they don’t scan the pass. They use photo recognition. I’m sure you aren’t the first to have this be a potential issue, so hopefully someone has some experience to share.

Yes, last year they were scanning my card at every ride and once in a while they used the camera to validate that it was me. So, I’m not sure how it’s working now…

This is definitely the type of thing that stresses me out and would lead to me paying more money for multi-day express tickets for all days and not changing hotels for express. I have a feeling you may end up at Guest Services having your Express Pass restored. Maybe wear a scarf when you enter each queue.

:joy: :joy: I’m probably buying more days than I need because of “the savings’ and flexibility, but we’re probably doing 6 park days and longest express I see is 5 days.

I tried calling tonight, but idk what department I spoke to as guest services was closed. They said the hotel passes still get scanned.

But if the camera is also right there, I’ll bet it catches my face at least once a day.
