Does it seem crazy to Rope Drop Frozen from the main entrance? My friends are staying at The Contemporary, so taking the monorail. They plan to buy the SLL for Guardians for later in the day. I feel like the conventional wisdom is to Rope Drop Test Trak, but TP says both Remy and Frozen LLs will be gone almost immediately, and only one of them can be reserved in advance.
I’m thinking they should reserve Remy ahead of time for the afternoon, Rope Drop Frozen (even though it’s a longer walk), then immediately ride something like Mission: Space using a LL and try for a Test Trak reservation for later in the day.
Not at all. This is what we did for Remy (pre-booked LL) and FEA (Rope Drop) while TT was being refurbished so wasn’t an option. There’s not a great way to do EP if you want all of Remy, FEA and TT with short lines so each plan will involve some combination of compromise (like single rider) or risk (missed drops, no drops or no same day availability)
TT is more likely to be sold out by the start of day-of than the other 2, but TT is the only one of the 3 that currently has LL drops (however the drops aren’t guaranteed and even when they do drop, the dropped LLs don’t last long). And as you point out, even when Remy and FEA LLs are available day-of, they sell out quickly.
Would they consider doing single rider for TT or Remy?
Thank you! It’s interesting you say TT is less likely to have day-of LLs available, because the TP site says Frozen and Remy are typically gone by 7:30/8:00 while TT is typically gone by 1:00pm.
They’re with kids and it’s their first time at Disney, so I doubt they’d want to do single rider. The other suggestion I made is to split up and some of the group rope drop Frozen while the others rope drop Test Trak, and if they are able to get LLs for Test Trak later in the day, it’ll be a bonus.
The good thing is the kids know very little about Disney and won’t know what they’re missing if they miss something. I’m just trying to help them get to as much as they can without crazy lines
To make sure I was giving you current (and correct) advice, I just went to check the data on www.thrill-data.com and it shows the average day-of LL sell out times over the past 30 days for the 3 attractions as follows:
(1) TT 9:15 am
(2) Remy 9:54 am
(3) FEA 10:27 am
When I was more closely monitoring this past fall, TT often sold out before park opening.
Not at all. I’ve successfully rope dropped FEA from the main entrance twice in the last couple of years. It’s quite a walk regardless of whether you’re coming from IG or the front of the park. The two RD crowds are usually released around the same time, so the groups heading for FEA usually end up merging somewhere at the front of World Showcase/before Mexico. So if your friends make it to the right rope and walk with purpose, they’ll likely have a very short wait (I’ve managed to get onto the second boat once when coming from the front of the park, but I was solo that day - with family I’d expect 10-20 min wait max depending on the day’s crowd level.)
Your overall plan sounds sensible to me too. Mission Space could be a good option to tap in and unblock their tiers (if they want to ride it). I’m not crazy about that ride, so during my solo trip I headed over to Soarin after FEA and did a tap and run at the Pixar Short Film Festival on the way. Soarin was still a near walk on (and I then used the free LLMP slot to book a reride on FEA for that evening - this was during the TT refurb and I didn’t need a LL there).
