My family will be staying at Pop Century at the end of March and we are planning on going to Epcot for early entry. I am reading that lately the skyliner has been very slow with long lines in the morning. I will be getting multipass but haven’t decided what is the best option for getting there in the morning.
Option 1: Get in line for the skyliner early (6:45-7 am) and rope drop Remy. I would try to get a lightning lane for Frozen.
Option 2: Drive in the rental car to the main entrance (probably leaving around 7:15-7:30 am) and rope drop Frozen. If doing this I would try to get a lightning lane for Remy.
I’m not sure what approach is best since this will be the first time my family will be staying at Pop and have access the the skyliner. Any thoughts about what would be our best approach for EE at Epcot?
Last September we were in line for skyliner at 7:30, boarded at 7:50. They hold you at the bridge to France, times vary, but we were in line at Remy at 8:25. The ride was down, which happens ALOT, but we stuck it out and were on at 9:17. We are slow so faster people will shave some seconds off lol.
If you come from the main entrance, I believe they also hold you so you can’t get in line for Remys. When the rope drops, you’d have to sprint to the back of the park and would already be behind all SL/walking resorts.
Frozen and Remys are the 2 most rope-dropped rides, I believe (especially with TT being closed).
I have no experience with option 2. I like option 1. In line for SL at 7 was good enough for us. Even if long line, moves quickly. Most likely not long. But no later than 7.
My fave plan is now RD Remy with your option 1. Then Impressions de France 9:00 show. Then pastries.
I would also choose option 1: rope drop Remy, and prebook an FEA LL. If you really like Remy, you could then even pick up a Remy LL at the afternoon drop and ride it again later in the day.
Not sure if you are planning to ride GotG and Soarin too, but if you are I would ride Soarin after you’ve done Remy (when waits are still low), then ride GotG first with VQ (you can also buy an LLSP in addition if you want to ride twice). The VQ wait times are very short in the first 30 min of park open, whereas if you do it any other time of the day (except maybe end of day) the VQ is likely to be at least 45 min wait time. If you’re planning to ride it only with an LLSP, then it likely won’t matter when you ride it.
