Epcot on a Sunday?

Building my TPs and Sunday Nov. 3 looks like a pretty good choice for Epcot for our family this time around. It is during F&W festival.

I am reading multiple articles that say Epcot on a Sunday should be avoided at more or less all costs.

We are a family with young children, focused on riding the rides and the night time spectacular. We don’t care about food and wine and will go through world showcase only for the rides and sights.

What do you experts think ?

Both Saturday and Sunday (and Friday nights) at EPCOT are filled with those attending the festivals. So, yeah…probably best to avoid those times. In the very least, I would avoid World Showcase…although…some of the festival booths have bled out into the front part of the park now as well.

Thanks, makes perfect sense. It is odd though that CL is at 6 on the Sunday but 8 on the monday…

CLs are not based on crowds, but wait times…so you could have a lower wait time even if it is more crowded because more people are eating at the festival booths rather than riding.

So, it kind of depends on your tolerance for crowds.

We were in World Showcase as one of the festivals started on a weekend once and it was so packed, we could barely move. We would have lost one another if we hadn’t been holding hands. If you have younger kids, I would just avoid the area entirely!

What @ryan1 says is true. However, I will be there the same weekend and have the 3rd pegged for our Epcot day anyway. The wine and dine half marathon is going on that day so opening time is later, maybe that has something to do with lower predicted crowd. The food and wine crowds don’t bother us much as we mostly are there for rides and use LL to avoid lines as much as possible. If you were wanting to do a lot of the food booths the weekdays would be easier for sure.

Oh wow !!! Not cool…

Ah ! That’s why it opens at 10, I was wondering. That was an attractive point to me actually as my family is really not early risers. I plan on doing ZERO food booth lol. Rides + fireworks and using LL for sure.

Last October I was in EP on a Saturday during F+W. Same thing in 2022. Both trips with my wife and two young kids (under 8 y/o).

WS was very crowded after Noon’ish but we were only in WS for rides and characters (Norway, Mexico and France) so we did not spend a lot of time in WS. The weekend festival crowds didn’t bother us and I would do it again. You may find slightly lower ride wait times on the weekend in EP vs Monday.

We are not early risers either! We were there once for the full marathon weekend in January and although we are not runners, it was fun seeing the participants on the course that ran through the parks. We would have to pause once in a while to wait for runners to pass, and enjoyed checking out their outfits. But, I suspect the half will be done before they open the park.
It is a good idea to try to knock out the attractions in World Showcase earlier in the day on the weekend as others already said because it can get crazy crowded later in the day.

I am local and spend my Sunday Funday at EP often. I find it is always much less busy than a Saturday

Sunday is a travel day for a lot of people so that is why Monday is usually busier.

TP optimization did exactly that without me having to do anything !!!
