Epcot dining, Gluten Free?

Hi all,

Traveling with our son’s GF for the first time, and she has a gluten sensitivity. We are looking for a sit down in Epcot. The discussion about the 2 Mexican restaurants is all over the place. She loves chips/guac and margaritas. Is there a safe bet /dedicated fryer for that anywhere in Epcot (la cava, for example?) I was debating dinner at either Mexican restaurant but if she cannot have chips and guac, it is less than ideal. If she can get those elsewhere (cantina, la cava) then maybe she can do that while snacking, and do a different plan for dinner.

I feel Le Cellier is the best option for dinner GF wise, but not sure everyone would want that on a day we will also enjoy the food booths. Might be too much. (maybe le Cellier lunch and grazing later is the way to go?) The creperie gets mixed reviews (although she thought that sounded great.)

Any other recommendations? She loves GF pasta, doesn’t eat seafood aside from a bit of sushi.

I had a couple of ideas regarding the area resorts, but ideally, they want to eat right in Epcot.

Thank you!

I would feel confident with GF at any restaurant run by Disney. Don’t do Italy, though. Le Cellier is delicious, and you can always do apps and dessert if you don’t want a heavy meal.

I can’t give you advice about Mexican. I can’t eat any grains, so it’s a no go for me.

Thank you! I really do like the idea of splitting a couple things at le Cellier, getting a couple apps. I think that is especially reasonable at a lunch reservation. I will explore.

We’ve eaten at La Hacienda de San Angel quite a few times. When they find out I eat gluten free, the servers always let me know that the chips are not prepared in a dedicated fryer. But since I eat gluten free as a preference and not a severe allergy, that is not an issue for me. I would think San Angel would be the same. We’ve enjoyed Coral Reef, Space 220, and Garden Grill within the past couple years, and they all do a great job with gluten free options.

Thank you, that is helpful.

My husband (also sensitive, not celiac) has enjoyed San Angel Inn on multiple occasions and the quick service in Mexico once with no problems. Biergarten and Spice Road have very limited GF offerings. We’ve also done Coral Reef and Teppan Edo without incident. Good luck.

Thanks! I currently have San Angel Inn reserved. Glad to hear it has worked for you. Maybe I will just keep this one.
