Entering Wait Times in Universal

I was telling myself that I need to be diligent about entering wait times at Universal. We’ll be there for two weeks starting Jan 3rd, right after Epic is added to park hopping. So, major change. It has been a few years since we’ve been, and probably been to SOFT about 50 times since.

In my brain I am trying to envision when I’ll put my cell phone up. When we are on a ride without ride lockers, it is when we split of into the little lines. We gather stuff into the backpack and DH gets it in hand to put it in the place to dump your stuff. But Hagrids for example has the lockers at the start of the ride. I don’t remember what I did before. Maybe I kept my phone with me in a fanny pack? Maybe I just remembered the time I got on the ride?

Tell me what a diligent TP’er does to enter ride times.

Also, it might be nice to add something to the app when you stop the timer so you could choose where you were when you stopped it. For example, I seem to remember some rides had two sided lockers and you dumped your stuff shortly before you got on the ride. That would be a logical place to stop the timer.

For rides without metal detectors, I keep my phone since I have a fanny pack. You start the timer when you get to resistance in the line (line is stopped. You always stop the timer when you are getting into the ride vehicle (not the preshow).

The exception I can think of is VC (?). You would stop the timer before the two sided lockers and metal detectors. TP knows to add time to the wait.

I am unsure of Epic.
