Early Epic without Rope Drop

Any real life experience on getting to Epic early but not at the front of the pack? We have no interest in making a mad dash or standing in a large crowd.

In my ideal world we would be just behind the rope drop crowd. What time is that? We will head to Nintendo first. My plan says that if I arrive at 9:00, I’ll wait 12 minutes for Mario. But if I arrive at 9:05, I’ll wait over 50 min. We’ll have express. But hoping to ride Mario and Yoshi’s twice that day. (Yes Yoshi twice) So, if we’re early enough we’ll do them without express first. Any ideas about what time to get there to avoid the massive rush of rope drop, but still be early enough for ok waits?

Same with Toothless. Not interested in being a part of the rush. But still hoping to have a shortish line. Is it even possible?

I couldn’t even convince my kids to ride Yoshi once!

Meet Toothless? The shortest line is at rope drop, although Berk is considerably less crazy than Nintendo. Otherwise it’s an hour minimum.

If you want to avoid crowds, I would probably avoid Nintendo until later in the day.

Also, please take our advice that this is the worst ride literally ever. I have little kids as well.

Mine are 10 and 8 so still relatively young. My 8 year took one glance at the Yoshi ride and said it “looks really boring”. I wanted to try it, but couldn’t get either of them to go with me. They were more interested in getting to other rides at Epic.

Mine were 6 and 9 when we went. My 6 year old complained the whole time that the seats were uncomfortable and that the “game” was stupid and didn’t work. I think like 1-2 year olds may enjoy like looking at the stuff but there is a height requirement! We literally walked on and I was mad that we were wasting our time.
