Was this on the Universal Website?
Wow! We were there in August. They added BatM and Mine Cart to it only like a couple days before but I didnāt look at the price after that.
Yes, the official UOR price.
OH Wow. Thatās expensive. I wasnāt budgeting THAT much for XP. I may have to rethink the trip. I canāt pull the trigger on purchasing now until I know my plans are firm. That amount for one day of XP will have me rethinking my strategy.
XP that is now showing for the rest of the year was once around $170, now $300-$340. I started looking at my January trip when they posted tickets, around a month ago. First it was $130, less than a week later, $140, now $170 and I only expect it to keep going up. You could consider a refundable XP through someplace like Orlando Informer if you feel like it would change your whole trip. It costs more, but not by a lot.
Are you saying that it is $411 for 1 Epic Express Pass for one day? The highest I am seeing is $340 which is about $365 with tax. I agree with @melcort10 that this seems more likely to be the cost of a park ticket plus express. Maybe double check? Either way, I would caution that the price could get higher as the visit gets closer.
Thatās a though. Iām still struggling with what dates to plan for. I have a room booked (that can easily be canceled). Iāll look into this though! Thank you.
That seems to be the trend. I wasnāt thinking of this possibility. Now Iām going down the rabbit hole of ALLLL the different pricing options and flexibility terms.
I know what you mean! I had actually ruled out Epic due to the rising cost of express for a date I was watching in November. I thought they were just raising the overall cost of XP. But, when I saw that the newly released dates started back at the lower prices, I snagged refundable tickets. But it will still be tough if the weather is bad on the day we picked.
Maybe you arenāt awareā¦but it is perfectly acceptable to go and enjoy UOR without XP. I have never had XP. And we wonāt have it for our trip in February!!!
We paid $550 per person for 4 days of XP at all 3 parks. This is for just after News Years. $411 seems way higher than anything I have seen for one person/one park/one day. Right now the highest priced day for Epic XP only is New Years and a few days before Christmas at $340. Most days are quite a bit cheaper.
Have you tried that at Epic? The waits there are well, epic! ![]()
We are going in February for two days, fully anticipating long lines.
Personally, I have come to the position that I do not want to reward UOR for their poor park and ride capacity by paying them extra money. They learn nothing from that other than providing low capacity rides earns them gobs of extra money.
I get that in theory, but rewarding them has a positive outcome for us (we donāt wait too long to ride). Not buying XP means we have a negative outcome and have to wait in long lines. We donāt tend to pick vacations that have negative outcomes (at least not on purpose).
Well. I donāt see it as negative. Perhaps not AS positive. But we will have a good time, regardless.
I think we are just spoiled. I can admit it. ![]()
Thatās fair. ![]()
I, too, would often like to send a message to WDW or UOR by not spending my money on something, but someone else will spend theirs! So they arenāt going to get the damn message so I guess Iāll skip the damn line.
Unfortunately DHās standing in line is at a minimum right now. Itās up in the air if we will even go in April. I see back surgery in his near future. But his line standing is generally at 20 mins max. He has insisted if we go we get express pass. He is also fine with postponing the trip! (sad trombone). So I have to juggle it all. This trip does have a budget after all, lol. If they are that expensive, I will cut back to a day or two and just focus those days on the rides with long lines. Iāve only ever had an XP at USO. If it were Disney, no big deal as weāve gone so many times.
I was budgeting $600pp for 3-4 days at all 3 parks.
If they are low crowd level days, I can see not having XP. But right now, we are looking at the week past Easter or the first week in May. I expect those days to have moderate crowds. I donāt mind the lines and waiting perse, but not at DHs extreme discomfort. As it is we will already have to skip some of the most extreme rides.
This should be plenty. I actually bought ours on Getaway Today as they were the cheapest by at least $100 total over other options.
