Two new rentals today that are more than 20% under median - which is nice any day of the year, but even more better in the week before Christmas:
3-night Riviera 2BR Lock Off starting 12/17 for $940/night. Not a “cheap” price, but 24% under the median of $1,239/night for this room.
Again: that median uses ALL data recorded for the room type.
When JUST looking at 14-day windows surrounding that date the last 2 years you get different medians. Last year’s was $1,682 and this year $1,191.
NOW: A REALLY Good Deal:
4-night Poly studio starting 12/20 for $410/night or 22% under median of $550.
BUT: Looking at the more specific 14-day window median around this date, the Poly median is more like $620-$630 using 2022 and 2023 before Christmas data, so this is really more like 35% under median.
Two new BRV Studios out in September:
7-night starting 9/21 for $319/night or 26% under median.
5-night starting 9/24 for $299/night or 30% under median.
There have been several highly discounted Hilton Head rentals over the last month or so, but I haven’t posted them because most were 1-nighters, which is hardly an easy sell like something at a WDW area resort.
But, had to post this one: is both a 3-night rental AND 59% under median:
HH Studio starting 12/12 for $108/night. B far the lowest price seen.

(BTW: There has been a January 7th 4-night HH Grand Villa out there for 59% under median at $513/night.)
Also, the week before Christmas seems to be having a smallish surge of low priced rentals, here’s a trio of identical 1-night OKW studios on 12/20 for $195! That’s 32% under median for this room.
BTW: Smallish Surge was the name of my Zydeco Devo fusion band in college.
I bet you’re generally good at coming up with band names.
Quite a few new 1-night and a few multi-night rentals more than 20% under median - with several more than 40% under! Have to go out in the back woods and lumberjack this morning so no time to slice and dice specific rentals, but here’s a screen cap from my source data for a peek.

Price drop: 2-night Grand Flo 1BR Villa starting 11/27 now $795/night. (Was originally $1,113.) That’s 21% under median.
2-night OKW 1BR starting 11/23 for $402/night or 26% under median.
4-night GF Studio starting 1/1/2024 for $389/night or 25% under.
HUGE Price drop:
6-night GF 2BR Villa starting 11/11 now $748/night, or 45% under median.
(Originally was $1,621/night! Yikes!)
7-night SSR 1BR Villa starting 11/17 now $381/night, or 36% under median.
4-night SSR 2BR Villa starting 11/26 now $460/night or 37$ under median.
That’s definitely the best way to save on a Disney vacation if families can plan to go “last minute”.
Did we ever find out what happens to the rooms that go unclaimed? Empty I’m sure. Maybe most sell?
From the data, I can’t tell if something is booked, pulled from the rentals to be used or went unbooked, it’s just there, then its not.
I would have to assume that the majority of unbooked rentals the last few days before check in just time out, but I just don’t have anything I can use to back up the assumption.

There have been 51 rentals that dropped in price over the last day or so, the majority are 1BR or 2BR Villas and had significant changes. Check my search engine and use these settings to see the changed rentals quickly.
