Has anyone ever purchased (and had to use) the DVC travel insurance? What exactly does it cover? Insurance confuses the heck out of me and I can’t figure out exactly it reimburses for in terms of your points.
I’m considering purchasing insurance this year as we just found out my MIL’s cancer has returned and the prognosis isn’t good. We have several WDW trips planned for 2024, and DVC is really the only non-refundable part of the trip, if we were to have to cancel last minute.

What I know is from when I looked into it.
The insurance simply covers the maintenance fees for the points used in your reservation if you have to cancel it.
If you use points from more than one use year you have to buy the insurance for each use year.
