DVC 50% point borrowing timeline

I was looking at the DVC website today, and it said reservations borrowing more than 50% of the next year’s points will be cancelled within 7 days. Does anyone have experience with this - does that mean it will sometime be cancelled up to 7 days from the date of booking, maybe 2 maybe 7? It’s very vague wording.

I have read reports of people being able to book the reservation and then it is gone the next day. I thought recent reports were that you would get an error message when booking and it stops the final step?

Yep, I think it now stops you borrowing more than 50% in total. And I believe it’s smart enough to work out accumulated borrowed points across more than one reservation.

But the message means the reservation will be deleted within a week of being made.
