DLR Refurbishments during Touring Plan

I’m having some frustrations with my DLR touring plans. How does TP determine what attractions to make available to a plan? I have a couple of plans for which I cannot add attractions because they are under refurbishment. (Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear, Roger Rabbit, etc) Or I have to remove them from a previously made plan to use it. But, how does TP know how long these attractions will be down? There is no timeline on the official DLR site.

I would much rather take something out realtime because it’s down then skip it in the plan and have to add it back if it opens back up.

For my trip next month I got “real-time” notifications that rides I had planned on doing was no longer available as they came off the DLR line-up of attractions. (PoC, Jungle, Buzz, TSMM, Roger)

IME - TP keeps the attraction as unavailable for planning until Disney tells everyone a reopening date or the attraction “suddenly” comes back online - whichever happens first.

None of the attractions that are offline for my trip have any reopening dates. I doubt they’ll be back online within the next month. If it does I will have to hastily rearrange my plans.

However, I know from expereince that my DLR TP is mostly an outline than a strict itinerary. Many predicted waits will be longer or shorter and LL availability is always better than predicted.

If you are making a plan for a trip a couple months away, you may have to rearrange items if any of those ride come back online before then. It can be frustrating as I like to make plans for fun while I wait. However, until you are less than a month (or even two weeks) away anything can go offline / online at Disney without notice.

I did a MK touring plan dated June 2nd a week or two ago. I created the plan after the announcements that Buzz and BTMRR would be open, but they were both on the closed list and could not be on my plan.

I was able to add both attractions today. It seems like TP adds them as available once it is official but sometimes it might take a few days to update the software?

I get it, I guess. It’s frustrating for me though to have to take things out or remember to put things back during the planning stage, knowing that it can be months ahead. I would rather see it highlighted or a warning on the plan than be unavailable at all.

I agree! I don’t like my entire plan “frozen” due to a ride being unavailable until I delete the attraction.

I will sometimes add a meal at a nearby QS stand as a placeholder for that attraction if I want to keep it in.
