Sorry for the DLP question here, but since there isn’t a DLP forum…
I’m seeing several sources reporting that starting on 11/9, you can add a reserved viewing area for the Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade, bookable via the app. But does anyone actually know WHERE in the app, or what the process is for booking?
I’ve got a hotel + tickets package for 12/25-27, and when I go in my app, I can clicks on “shows and parades: preferred access”, and then I see an option for “Christmas Parade and nighttime show: Reserved viewing area”, and then I get to a screen for “Choose your show or parade” and when I click “select” on Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade, it then tells me that says “You can book the guarantee access or reserved viewing area options for Guests in this booking via your DIsney Account on our website” and then if I click the “Go to my Disney Account” button, it makes my re-login, and from there, there’s not an option for the parade.
Same thing happens if I go in via my desktop and login, it’s not showing parade access, only these four options:
So what’s going on…does it only show up day of? If so, what time? Is it a glitch? Is it already sold out? Is there someone else I can call to book it? Any help appreciated!
I’m afraid I can’t help, other than to say that this must be a new thing - so maybe not yet functioning well?
We were in DLP last Christmas (full trip report here). It was freezing cold and I would have paid good money for reserved viewing of the evening show (and probably parades too), but it was just not an option. The only option for reserved viewing areas were for VIPs (and I understand within the VIP area, you could also try to make reservations if you were an annual passholder). For what it’s worth - our strategy for just turning up at showtime worked quite well for the evening show, and for the parades we just accepted we wouldn’t get a front row slot and found a slightly elevated area (curb or bench) from which to watch and didn’t feel we missed out too much. But I understand it’s somewhat crowd level dependent and your dates will likely be among the most popular.
Yep, just announced a couple days ago. I can see it on the Disneyland Paris site, but there isn’t a way to click through to actually book it. I was able to book the reserved viewing for the nighttime show, but not the parade.
Hope you can figure out how to book! It sounds like it’s worth it.
You could try to call? If you’re in the US and don’t want to pay for an international phone call, this number worked for DLP last year: 1-800-438-9876.
Thanks - I did call and managed to get through to a rep who said that the parade reserved area is only available to book via the app, but there is a known technical issue currently preventing booking, so just keep trying to refresh and book via the app is the best way.
I’m sure the reserved viewing area for the nighttime shows is new. We were there after Veterans’ Day last year, watching the parade three times and the “fireworks” twice. There wasn’t such a thing last year. The drone show was not available during our visit. The “fireworks” really were more of a projection show with a little fireworks. It is not WDW fireworks! This is important because if you can’t see the whole castle, you miss out on what’s going on. That’s where the reserved seating may help.
Having said that, DLP’s website really lacks compared to the American parks. After being on the DLP website, I vowed never to complain about the American Disney websites again!
Still wasn’t able to book, and so tried the chat help, and there the representative said that the parade specifically can only be booked once you have your MagicPass in the app, so starting at 7 days before.
Will continue to try just in case, as it’s not quite sure which rep is correct, lol.
