Disneyland Tokyo

I’m planning a trip to DisneySea and Disneyland Tokyo. Couple questions - any idea if or when Disney Tokyo content will be up and running on the App any time soon? I see the free content is available but it doesn’t include crowd calendar information, nor can you create a touring plan. Which leads to my next question. For any of you who have visited during cherry blossom season, are the crowds significantly different? Trying to pin down when to go, but right now thinking either in October for the nice weather, or March/April to see the cherry blossoms. I’ve also read weekends are seriously high crowds so i’m planning to spend 3 days at the parks on a Tues-Thurs. Thanks all!

I’m going to Japan in 12 days and the three weeks includes a mon - Wed at Disney. I’ll report what we’re able to accomplish but I did book a package which came with three skip the line passes a day and two breakfasts, three days of park tickets (DisneySea, Disneyland and DisneySea in that order).

Also, TDRExplorer sells a guide for Disney (and for Universal Japan) with touring plan ideas:

Also check out thrilldata on the internet as it includes past average daily wait times by 5 min increments.

Following! We are adding Tokyo for 4 days on our delayed honeymoon in November before heading to Thailand. I have never felt so lost with Disney planning. We want to do Miracosta for 2 nights.

That’s where we are staying for 3 nights. We got the 2 night package and added a night!

I posted some notes from when I booked things here:

You can book hotel 3 months out I believe (and unlike WDW 3 months means by date. Like if you’re checking in 10/1 you can book the hotel 7/1…you don’t have to count out the 90 days). As soon as you book your hotel, you can book hotel dining. But park dining is 1 month out. My Disney Visa card worked to book the package but not to buy tickets. My Citibank credit card did not work.

And if you’re curious here’s our TP:

I went in April. The ride lines move pretty fast, you are almost always walking. …and where you’re not, some of the ride lines even have places to sit.

We only did Premier Access for Toy Story. The other popular ones we did first thing - we had Happy 15 once and did the BatB ride. We also got to the park extra early to be towards the front. You can sit down while waiting for park open - which my feet really appreciated.

Where rides had single rider we took advantage of that. Many rides were walk on, or low waits. (Mid-April)

You’re very welcome. If you think of any specific questions let me know. And remember hotel dining you can book when you book hotel (I didn’t realize this and almost lost out on breakfast every day and did lose out on being able to eat at both restaurants that offer breakfast).

Here’s the details (and I’d go look at what the time diff is from where you are so you can hop on at 10am Japan time)

Period for Making a Booking

The period differs depending on the restaurant.

Restaurants at Tokyo Disneyland / Tokyo DisneySea
Booking in advance: From 10:00 a.m. (JST) one month before to 8:59 p.m. (JST) the day before you wish to dine.
Booking on the Day of Visit: From 9:00 a.m. (JST)

Restaurants at Disney Hotels
From 10:00 a.m. (JST) three month before to 60 minutes before you wish to dine.

  • Please note that Chef Mickey can be booked from 10:00 a.m. (JST) one month before to 60 minutes before you wish to dine.

  • If the month before does not have the same day as your dining date, then you can book from the 1st of the next month. (Example: If the date you want is March 30, you can book from March 1 because February does not have 30 days.)

Welcome to the Forum!

@gingerSnaps543222 booked her TDL trip herself! I’m not that brave or patient! I will be using a travel agent for the TDL part when we go next November. DD wants to go during fall colors!

I used a Touring Plans travel agent for my DL Paris trip this fall. She didn’t charge me a fee. She already said she can book my TDL for me. If you are interested in touching base with her, PM me.

Then, I’m gonna steal @gingerSnaps543222 ’s touring plans!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m curious to know what this itinerary looks like!

You can do everything on the DLP website but it has been super helpful to have the US based agent. This being our first trip to DLP, we were super confused I can call and talk to her and at the time we booked, she wasn’t charging a fee! If staying at a DLP hotel, you pick the number of nights you are staying and it automatically sells you one more park day than nights of hotel. We are Americans and used to choices! We wanted 3 nights of hotel and 2 park days. Our agent priced out doing tickets and lodging separately so that we could have what we wanted. The price difference between 3 nights and 2 park days of park ticket and 3 nights and 4 days of park tickets was like $30/person. We decided to book 3 nights at Newport Bay Club with 4 park days. Day 1, we arrive in late afternoon, hopefully in time for the parade. Day 2 and Day 3 are full park days. Day 4, we do a few morning things and have breakfast at Plaza Inn before leaving DLP.

I used to think WDW’s website was bad until I started poking around DLP’s and TDL’s websites! The websites leave us with questions!

Yes TDRs leaves much to be desired and goes down daily for 2 hours for booking sections.

:scream: I was all anxious reading about this in your thread!

Oh yeah that was a nightmare. It wouldn’t let me book cuz of the phone number or something and I had to use my backup account (I use it to create two different ADRs at the same time in the states). It was sooo weird and then it didn’t want to take my credit card it had taken on previous run thru (that I immediately cancelled) so I knew they took that card. Took 4 tries. I literally threw up from the stress. And then the stress of trying to change my 3 day room only to 2 day package and 1 day room only since you can only do 2 day packages without losing the room I had. Oh god, terrible experience.

Are you doing anything else in Paris or just DLP?

We have 4 days on our own in Paris before we join our tour for 5 days to Normandy Beaches, Mont St. Michael area, Loire Valley, and Chateau de Chambord. After the tour, we will go to DLP.

Are you doing an ABD tour? I’m being nosy, but it’s only because I’m loosely thinking about this for after graduation for my oldest DD
