Disneyland Paris Trip Report!

:scream:
Was it down when you were just there? Taking the overlay on or off maybe? That’s a real shame.

The Lion King show looks incredible! Reminds me of the Aladdin (and then Frozen, but Aladdin was better) show they used to do at the big theater in DCA.

I so want to go to DLP! You’re making me so tempted to pull the trigger on a trip during my daughter’s spring break!

They were putting the overlay on it. I had my fingers crossed it would somehow come back early but not luck. Just means I have to go back!

I’d be so curious about the review from someone who goes to DLR more often. They felt similar in many ways (and even more so once AC opens)…but also completely different somehow hahah

Oh my goodness. Thank you for this report. I was searching high and low on the internet for tips as we are going to Disneyland Paris the third week of July this year, our last full day in Europe after a 2.5 week trip.

I know it won’t be enough time, 3 hours one evening till park close and then a full day the next day, but I am not willing to give up Versailles for more time in the park, and alas, I do have to return to work! I already extended my trip by one day and one night to squeeze this in for the kiddos. I’ve added in Lion King show and Alice Labryinth to my plan, thanks to your report.

And lucky you for booking New York so far in advance at a such a great rate. Rates are SKY HIGH right now for my July time period, and no way does it make sense for me to spend $800/night - ($1200+ all in with the ticket package). So, we ended up at the Sequoia, and even then I booked using their Euro website/Euro rate, as both the Euro rate/Euro website and the UK rate/UK website were anywhere from $120 to $60 cheaper than the U.S. dollar package, likely b/c of the favorable exchange rates right now.

And even with that, I’m still spending $850 for hotel/tickets for 3 of us. Jeez. If I had just bought one-day park hopper tickets it would have been $400 for three of us. So, the way I see it is I’m spending $450 on a basic hotel room, and get a ‘free’ extra evening of park time the night before (b/c the package comes with 2 days of park hoppers instead of one) + early entry. $450 for the hotel portion is certainly more expensive than our in the heart of the city Paris hotel for sure!

I keep checking every day though, just in case their July bookings are softer than they thought…and see if I can snag a better rate.

Hopefully, I can pay it forward to this forum and do a read-out on a short 1 day + ish trip report in high season. Avengers campus is announced to open in ‘early summer’ so we think our late July trip will have it open, based on their official teaser video released a few days ago. we shall see…

Thanks again for this. So helpful.

I am so excited for you! I am going to go through your post and answer some questions for you there about my suggested general plan of attack.

I do feel super thankful for the deal I got. I think for 2 nights/3 days at HNY I was at around $700 for just me. Not like a massive deal (and more than I ever pay at WDW), but compared to some of the prices I have seen reported, sounds like the advance booking last fall when things were slow helped! I also booked through the UK site. I think it was almost $300 cheaper than the US!

Don’t count on any “discount” or lower rates for a late July trip. Mid-July to late august (20/25th august) is the peak of high season in Europe.
