In your opinion, how quickly did you feel comfortable navigating around and parking? DD24 drives her car well, but I can tell she is nervous about using the scooter and being a nuisance.
I wasn’t using a scooter, just walked slow, took frequent breaks & didn’t do any stairs. But I’m a frequent visitor so not getting to ride/see everything on that trip was okay. I see people who have to use a scooter but aren’t used to driving them & they are usually very timid because they are worried about running into someone in the crowds. But I think after a while they get the hang of driving one in crowds.

Have you looked at the disability maps? The let you know all the details of accessibility at the parks.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but it’s very similar to driving. The key is to practice for about 10-15 minutes once you get it. Keep the speed lower.

With 25 days to go I am stoked!
DD24 decided to take her first ever 100% solo vacation! I’m so proud of her! She is in NYC today to see a Live podcast show at Radio City Music Hall. She’s currently at The Empire State Building!
Something I have totally forgotten to mention is that while I was unemployed I really got into Legos! They are my favorite thing now. I have about a dozen kits. Many are Disney and HP themed or Universal movies!

We are a total Lego family! I have sets that are yet to be built but I am out of places to put them (we need more shelves/storage).
I love that Walt/camera set. Does it have a bunch of Easter eggs inside of it? One time we were at the Lego store an associate was showing us the Pixar Lamp and all its Easter eggs inside of it. And this looks like it could be the Disney equivalent of it.

Yep! On the other side of the camera, the “eye piece” is a handle to open the camera.
Inside, you can put a Lego Walt Disney sitting at a drawing table sketching Mickey.
Plus, the stand to hold the minifigures is a movie Clapper Board AND Multi-plane Camera animation set up depicting Snow White.
Finally, the each frame of film strip that wraps around the camera is a scene from a major Disney film in chronological order from Steamboat Willie to Encanto. All starring Lego figures!

That would be a tough one to get in and out of. If she really wants to do it, they might have an accessible boat that she can drive the ECV into. No idea

She really can walk. She just had surgery last November on her knees and it’s still really super sore.
She just got back from NYC last week with walking around. She did fine. She walked all over NYC museums, Radio City Music Hall and more (Her legs were super sore, but she was OK)
The scooter is a “security blanket” for her to have and to save a lot of steps!

To skip the stairs in the line, she can get a return time from CM at the exit to be able to use the handicap entrance. Using that entrance she doesn’t have to worry about hurrying to get on & since will be last to get off won’t need to rush then either.

DD came by yesterday. Her LA plans have fallen through. I’m happy about it because she can go to FanFest Nights with me instead of doing a meet-up with a stranger. (I know we love our Liner meets, but those are in very public places and we don’t get in a stranger’s car & drive around)
My frustration is that I wasn’t planning on her being at USH. Now, the only way I can get a scooter at USH is hope they still have any left to rent at Guest Services when we arrive at 11am.
I don’t have a hotel booked where a scooter could be a picked up or dropped off or any way to transport it if I did.
I’ll make it work somehow!!

The first weekend of FanFest 2026 is done! Lot’s of highlights and a couple misses…
I’m trying to stay spolier free. It does look like another great event!
I hope Orlando gets one of these in the future. I’m not sure which park would host it. I guess USF?? I know HHN houses are already being built there at this time of year.
Could you do it at IOA? I think the portals at Epic limit what you could do each year without repeats.
