Oh, that’s cool! I didn’t know that ![]()
Will we need a booster for Mears/ Sunshine or Minnie Van? Definitely need one for Uber/Lyft - correct? What happens to them after entering the park? Locker? Do they fit in stroller? (No experience with this - sorry! ) ![]()
I don’t know much about the topic, but I do know you don’t need them for the Mears buses. You can order Uber/Lyft with car seats so you don’t have to bring your own, but I’m not sure about availability. Those Bubble bum seats are recommended here and they are small enough to probably fit under the stroller.
Thanks, ladies!
ETA: I asked about boosters, but it’s a 2YO. What about car seats?
Remind me are you staying onsite or off? 2 yo definitely requires real car seat. Would it be better to rent a car and bring your own from home?
My December trip will be with a 2 yr old. We are taking the Mears bus and Disney transportation to avoid bringing a car seat. He will be a lap baby on the plane. Any travel in a car and he must have one. If you take the Minnie Vans, they provide them. I think Lyft and Uber do too upon request but they driver installs them. I would be a bit hesitant with that. I’m obsessed with having the car seat installed just so. I am trying to find some sort of booster seat contraption that can elevate him on certain rides. So far, I see the toddler carrying harnesses and some have a seat that is removable. I’m hoping to be able to use that. It’s just a little lift, not as much as a traditional booster seat.
Staying on site. I don’t anticipate having to use non-Disney transportation a lot, but know it will come up at some point. We have evening dinners at Ohana and CG and I anticipate the group with a 2YO won’t want to do transportation gymnastics getting back to Kidani village.
This will help. ![]()

Oh in that case I’d just rely on Minnie vans since they have the equipment and are trained on how to use it.
Actually they might
busses, boats monorail, Skyliner might all end up being a highlight (or even the best part
)for a 2 year old.
It’s the 21, 22, and 55 year olds I’m worried about.
Some of my fondest memories involve the boat boat to/from Port Orleans and ferry to MK.
Is it necessary to keep a cc on file in MDE? Is it true Disney gift cards can be used to mobile order? That’s really the only thing I see necessary for leaving a card on file. My sister is all worried about the girls charging stuff with their magic bands/or having access to her card information. The way I explained it is her cc info is not tied to MDE as far as sharing their plans and booking LL’s. She would rather remove the cc from her account altogether. I told her that will be a problem with mobile order, but if she can just enter a Disney gift card number, that should solve the problem.
Yes, iirc you can use gift cards to mobile order, but if you’re on the go it might be a bit fiddly to manually enter all those numbers?
If you want to reassure her about cc use, you could also tell her that the card on file can only be used with a 4-digit access code, so if her kids don’t have that code they can’t rack of unauthoritzed charges in any case!
Looking for quick service or F&W foods for toddlers at EPCOT. First thing that comes to mind is Sunshine Seasons and Connections. The booths probably have Mac & cheese type items.
I need recommendations for all the parks, actually.
Just in case her mom doesn’t plan on packing food/snacks.
My kids ate at Backlot Express (uncrustables and chicken fingers) and Woodys lunchbox (grilled cheese) in Hollywood studios.
We ate at Cosmic Rays in MK (more chicken fingers, Mac & cheese) and pretzel stand nearby.
Know that not all Mac & Cheese is created equal…and some kids don’t like the “fancier stuff”. I really want them to just serve Kraft
but they don’t.
Agree with NervousRex’s recommendations. Also, my experience (not saying they are the best, but my kids enjoyed)
MK - Kids liked Pinocchio Village Haus for the flat bread pizza or Chicken Tenders. Gastons for a cinnamon roll.
AK - Restaurantasaurus has the usual burger and chicken tenders
HS - Kids like Rosies all american cafe and pizzarizzo.
Depending on the age of the toddler, popcorn buckets are huge. We refilled ours several times a day.
Depends on the kids! You will find uncrustables on almost any kids menu in WDW if that’s a good back-up snack/meal for you.
Around that age, my kids + sister’s (vegetarians) also found good healthy options at Docking Bay 7 (rice with veggies) and ABC Commissary (salads and tacos). At Epcot, I’d add the raclette in Germany (potatoes covered in cheese), Les Halles (pastries, croissants, baguettes) or La Creperie (sweet or savory filled crepes) in France, fish and chips in the UK. At AK, customizable bowls at Satuli Canteen. At MK probably Cosmic Rays.
Here are my go-tos:
- MK: Sleepy Hollow (corn dogs)
- EP: Connections Cafe
- HS: Docking Bay 7 (mac & cheese, chicken nugget?)
- AK: Flame Tree BBQ
My kids are super picky so sometimes the menu item they will eat is potato chips, plain noodles, or the bun off a hot dog. Seriously. So we often don’t worry about what the kids will eat and just cater to our tastes. The kids will survive. My DD6 lives off popcorn in the parks.
And I bet she had the best time!!!
As long as we keep enough fruit snacks and whatever “bar” they’re currently into, plus the popcorn trough, they’ve been just fine.
