It’s my wife’s only souvenir request! I brought home some back in February and it was surprisingly amazing! I don’t even care for fudge and I loved it. (Sadly, it was the seasonal “king cake” flavor. I’ll have to wait until next February to have it again!)
You have to do it by default. I don’t even have the app on my phone. I booked it via web browser & got all the confirmations & such via text…
It’s incredibly simple & easy to use!! (No Disney IT insanity here! )
Maybe… You’ll most likely have to do the spells for them. Like you both hold the wand, but you make the motions to make the windows move.
I’ve said it so many times, but I can’t stress enough that the BEST time for spells - especially for new “students” is Early Park Admission. I know that’s a “waste” of ride time, but it’s the only time you’ll have these windows to yourselves. No joke! Everyone is rushing to Hagrid’s or Gringotts and you can stroll around doing the spells at your pace with no one waiting behind you. It’s the best time to learn how to do it and get a “feel” for how it works.
Otherwise, later in the day is a god time as well. The sun goes down, making the wands work better, and most people have moved on / out of WWOHP to other areas of the parks
VB is my favorite of all three parks. If I could only go to one of these parks forever, I’d pick VB. Now, that’s just me! I don’t like real beaches, real ocean or real waves! I do enjoy the simulation though!
There’s nothing I want more than to be in a chair on a fake beach, looking at a fake volcano, with a real tiki cocktail in my hand!
My recommendations for first timers w/ small children:
KRAKATU! (It’s worth the hype! It’s the only aqua coaster I’ve ever done.) It’s so fun and no “extreme” drops or thrill for families
Go speak to Vol! The spirit of the Volcano inside the volcano caves. It’s a great splash pad for little ones in there and Vol is a real improv actor! (like the Mystic Fountain) Vol will tell jokes, spray you with jets of water & lights!! Highly recommend! It’s one of those “little” things that Disney “used” to do that made me fall in love with UOR!
There are multiple kids areas! They are so neat! Remember your Tapu Tapu can “unlock” lights, sounds and motion activated things! Your 4 year old with love it! It’s like doing HP spells with only a tap!
- For Mom & Dad… My favorite place is the Dancing Dragons Boat Bar!
I really don’t drink at home, I swear. I get awful hangovers. I have to remember that when I travel because I’m a sucker for a bright colored fruity alcoholic cocktail!
These are so good AND consistently have alcohol in them that you feel. I hate paying $15+ for a drink and having to question if it even has booze in it!
If your 4 yr old is a good swimmer, the fearless river will be fun,. Otherwise, stay in the lazy river. You have to wear a life vest for good reason there!
If you are a good swimmer, I love the “Oh Yea!” and “Oh No!” slides. The slides that end in a free fall drop from about 6’ into a dive pool. I love that feeling of falling! You have to be a strong swimmer because you won’t touch the bottom of the pool and that drop can be disorienting
My biggest VB tip is…study the map! The place is a maze! I still get turned around at times! DO NOT BE MODEST about asking for directions! The TMs know how hard navigating VB can be. They are always helpful and have even walked me to the attractions - not just spoken directions!
I have no fear and I don’t mind the 200 stairs to the top of the volcano (Although I’d prefer a chairlift like at Blizzard Beach!! LOL!)
I think all water slides should start this way! It’s awesome!!
Ultimate VB Liner day - @darkmite2 , @Jeff_AZ , @bebe80 all go down all 3 body plunge slides together!
