Disney Refugee Brings a Buddy

Ok… I have a real addiction!!! I found Cabana Bay on my check-out day for one more night for $164. The flight change was free… Looks like I’m going to more night of HHN!! Only 4 more days to go!!

Want to get the most out of my Rush of Fear pass!

You should make a chart of how long the original stay was, and how long it is with each change.

Tell me about these passes–are they for unlimited house visits or just one visit per house?

It’s a pass to attend HHN every night in September. You need an AP or a separate ticket to attend the parks before 6pm. It was cheaper to buy the unlimited pass than two individual nights.

The Rush of Fear Pass entitles one (1) guest admission to all of the following 2022 Halloween Horror Nights event nights: September 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25. The Rush of Fear pass may be upgraded to an Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass only, on or before September 25, 2022. Not valid with any other specials, promotions or discounts. Sales tax and parking fee not included. Day admission tickets, Annual/Seasonal Passes and Complimentary Passes are not valid for Halloween Horror Nights admission. The Halloween Horror Nights event begins at 6:30 pm and closing times vary.

It started out as…

Monday September 19 - Saturday September 24 (solo trip with 2 HHN nights planned)

DD20 joins trip and I add Sunday September 25 at Cabana Bay. Upgrade HHN tickets to Rush of Fear passes

Added Sunday September 18 when I saw $109 at Aventura.

Changed Aventura to Cabana Bay when availability opened for Saturday September 17 & Sunday for less than $50 total. (Worth it for one less move and Volcano Bay access)

Added Sunday September 26 with same rate to stay at Cabana Bay

(I did, briefly, plan on staying off-site one of the arrival nights. I am paying about $50/night more to be on-site, but IME the convenience is worth it)

I have had success at finding discounted nights, but you have to spam the Universal hotel site habitually. Plus, it helps that I’m more flexible on my rate these days. I’m willing to go up to $150 per night now in order to extend my trips to add more weekend time. I am spending vacation time I don’t have yet! I will be stuck at my desk in 2023.
