Yes. The Sherk, Donkey, Finona meet is now in the space that used to be the gift shop for the Barney show. (The DreamWorks characters, like Madagascar and Kung-fu Panda meet on that stage now)
I didn’t realise it has changed into an unlicensed rip-off ![]()
RIP Barney show. That isn’t one that I miss ![]()
I’m really surprised my phone didn’t catch it! Shrek is a word I actually use from time to time!
Oh! I did officially go ahead and buy that SeaWorld promo ticket w/ dining included. I will be able to check that off my bucket list w/out any issues from family.
I’m still checking non-stop for better hotel rates, but I think I’ve gotten the best I can. I’m about 10 days out and availability is scarce. When there is something it’s priced at full rack rate.
I really want to add a day to my December trip. I’ve found the room, albeit higher $$ than I prefer. I’m just trying to go as much as I can by adding in an extra Sat. / Sun. when I can. I don’t have to worry about vacation time.
Can’t wait to hear about this!
I think that the ride itself is still a really great ride for kids… they like it even if they haven’t seen ET. Add in the nostalgia factor for the parents, and fact that’s its an original UOR ride I think it stays.
So, I ended up finding 1 day of my trip (the 14th) at AP rate in the same category I already had booked at seasonal rate for the 14th-17th… I called today to drop the 14th from that reservation and they said no, I could not remove one day, even though it’s not a package or discounted rate because there are no 2-day reservations available.
After discussion of how there’s nothing in the booking policy about that, and her acknowledging that yes, it’s very, very vague she called the hotel manager and they said if I already had the same room category booked for that night then it’s fine, though they still couldn’t merge the two for whatever reason (like, you were planning on me being in the same room for 3 nights so it’s not like you can’t still plan on that).
Anyway, tl;dr the Universal reservation system isn’t great.
2 weeks in a row now UUOP only talked about HHN leaving no time for anything else like news or Rate your Bao.
I haven’t been listening lately. Do they not have their spin-off podcast focused on HHN this year?
Haven’t heard of a spin off podcast. I’m just familiar with the main.
I had 3 days booked at SF using AP rate but looking for RPR. I’ve tried different combos of the days and finally today, I booked the first day at RPR on AP rate (2 days EP!) I was able to drop that day at SF by going online and modifying my reservation. I guess it was because those two days were still available at the rate I originally booked. I’m 20ish days out and have been looking several times per day.
ETA: the online system let me change my SF room type too, going from 2 queens to a King, both lagoon view. Same price.
I just looked it up. They did a series “Rush of Fear” with three hosts (I believe Michelle was one) and put them out as 15 different episode for HHN15.
I was sad too! I’m going to go back because it’s yummy, but to do another recording too. I was having so much fun that my review is quick and not detailed. Looking forward to round 2… (technically rd. 3 as we went twice last trip…I wish it was like at least $1 less per Bao)
I’ve run into this when finding two night stays, but can’t get a single night on either date!
I’ve also had it where I can’t add a day at the rate I already have without it removing the discount.
Sometimes you find dates you need at the same rate, but and when you go to book it the final total is about $30 - $50 extra as they add on a little charge every day?!?!
I’ve only been able to add on single days, for the most part. That’s why I was willing to pay a little more to stay at one place for the two days I’ve added on.
It’s still a simple process to book stuff, but it’s not very flexible. You typically, just cancel and book a new date
(Oh! I did as DW last night about adding on a Saturday in December, but it’s not gonna happen. I think right now she’s a bit burned out on talking about UOR. Maybe I’ll try again in Oct.
)
I found Sapphire Falls today for the WHOLE trip! Like, the same room the whole 4 nights. I feel like I won a Major Award.
I didn’t drop Portofino yet, because I need to have another eyeball at wait times to convince myself we don’t need express.
Your dates are in the middle of the week, correct? If so, I don’t think you’ll need UXP. I’ve been watch ride waits this week. I’m checking my plans as well. Now that schools are back in session it’s much slower…
I’ve been watching waits as well, and this week has held very close to last week across all the Orlando parks. This is excellent news, and really the closest trend to pre-covid normal that I’ve seen.
My Universal days are Wed-Sat, so a mix. Saturday is the only one I’d be worried about, and I’m saving like $250+ each night so if I wanted to buy Express it would still make more sense to do it that way!
FYI - The UXP is, currently, selling for $149 on that date
Yup… so $300 (but it’s $135 at Sam’s Club, so really $270). I’m saving a grand total of $1100 on the room, so even if I buy the UXP for Saturday I’m still $800 ahead.
Lol… 2 people really makes it hard to justify the premier hotels.
