It was in the Target app. On the home screen, there’s a bar on top that said “You have (3) circle bonuses.“ Tapping that brought me to it. Since Target deals are all targeted, it might not be available to everyone. Here’s a screenshot I took a few days ago.

Thanks, unfortunately I don’t have that bonus, but I will watch out for it.
Status update: I was able to buy (10) $100 Disney gift cards and got (10) $10 Target gift cards. Then, like you, I could not purchase anymore. My husband has an account, and I am working on maxing out on that now. With my first purchase using my own card, the system allowed me to apply the $10 circle bonus for an additional savings. I was only able to do that one time though. With my husband’s card, he has the $10 circle bonus like I did, and it states that it is applied, but it won’t take the $10 off at checkout like mine did. Can’t figure out why. Did you run into this, or did you get the $10 circle bonus under both cards?
ETA: I see in the footnote that the $10 Circle bonus cannot be used to purchase gift cards. Either mine slipped through, or they added that restriction after I used mine.

Target (the retailer) and Target Bank (the credit card issuer) have to be the most illogical businesses I have ever dealt with. It’s like watching Chris Cox do magic how they whip up policies and the overseas customer service is of zero help anytime I have called them.
I bought enough Disney Gift Cards to max out my card. Immediately payed the card balance using a debit card in order to get an electronic transfer of funds. Even though the funds were transferred overnight, Target Bank fumbled around for 3 days before restoring my available credit. Immediately went through the same process again, and this time Target Bank fumbled around for weeks before restoring my available credit. Mind you during these weeks the funds had been transferred to them by my bank. They claimed they were validating something or other with my bank which is 100% BS.
Of course what do you expect from an organization that would lower someone’s credit limit because they didn’t use the card enough during the COVID outbreak.

This happened to me at Home Depot. I went from just under 10K to $500. It has since closed itself. My Synchrony home account closed as well because I didn’t use it in 24 months. When I called they asked if I was ready to make a purchase. I was not. I only use it for large purchased that offer 12-24 months interest free. I had no large purchases to make! Now I will plan properly and make a large purchase with a card getting a SUB. But it was frustrating. I got penalized for being responsible with my charges, lol.

I have taken advantage of the spend $100 get a $10 Target gift card three times. Typically with the Target debit card and 5%, the $100 Disney gift card is $95. The debits on my checking account are showing up as two separate transactions of $85.50 and $10 so $95.50 in total so I’m being debited an extra 50-cents. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, all of my cards came out at $95.50. All I can think is that they applied the 5% credit to the net cost of $90. ($100 Disney minus $10 Target gift card)

Yes. The math makes me cranky. 
I read about someone who complained to Target and got them to make up the difference - I respect them standing up for principle!
Has anyone used gift cards to pay for LLMP / LLSP? It should work since they’re bought through MDE?

Ugh, I forgot to click through Rakuten for an additional 1% off (a whole dollar! 
) for my first Target gift card. At least I remembered for the second, but… headdesk

I just tried…and with a little trick, you can actually get TWO $50 for $45 each…add one digital card, and one physical. Shipping is free on the physical. So, I just got $100 in gift cards for $90.
I’ll try again tomorrow and see if it will allow a second time.

I will try again tomorrow too. The last few years you could go in right away and order again, but it looks like that has been blocked. I will be interested to see if tomorrow works.

I just did an order for 2 physical cards. I was charged $90 for the two $50 cards. Shipping is free. The order appears to have gone through.

Yesterday, it didn’t let me order two physical. There wasn’t even an option. So I did one digital and one physical.
Today, I tried again, but as @PrincipalTinker experienced yesterday, the system already knows I ordered the cards and won’t let me order them today.

In the past, if I exceeded the limit with Best Buy, the initial transaction would go through but then it would almost immediately cancel my order. We shall see…..
I also feel like in the past, I’d have to wait a full 24 hours to order again.

I got two digital and one physical at the discount. That’s all I needed, so didn’t try more.
I did try adding a third digital before adding the physical, and told about the limit of 2.
