Disapearing Special Offers?

Okay, I give up. It seems like a month ago, give or take, there were a few Special Offers at Disney World for late summer into September. I know because we cancelled a late February reservation thinking we’d still go back in September after looking at the September offers at that time. So today I checked online again cause we’re now seriously thinking of doing just that, but nothing is showing up on MDE after July. I’ve never seen anything like this before, and can only hope that Disney re-offers their “special offers” for this fall once again in a few months. Am I begin realistic, or has something changed? Thanks.

You are right, they seem to have changed the dates on the current save up to 30% when you stay 5 nights or longer promo. I have this promo booked for late August/early September, but Disney now shows it ending July 31st. Weird! No idea why they would roll the dates backwards.
Hopefully there will be a new promo soon that starts 8/1, as that is when the Passholder (up to 40% off) ends as well.

It’s possible they have no more rooms to offer under the promo for those dates resort wide. So they took those dates off.

Maybe, though hard to believe that is the case for the entire month of August and at least the beginning of September which aren’t busy times at WDW usually.

Agreed. But I can’t think of another reason, lol. Doesn’t MNSSHP start around then? Maybe they want to hold off on discounting rooms. It does seem odd.

Following. I currently have the 30% off deal (I booked this in February when it extended through September). I was hoping they’d do a dining plan deal, so I could compare which would save me more with all the TS meals I’ve planned… but so far it hasn’t budged.

I’m also waiting for tickets to MNSSHP to drop.

I’ve had this happen before. I’ve priced a room under a special offer and then a few weeks later went back to book it and the offer end date was changed. It stinks!

There are often “book by XX for XX” dates for the discounts. Maybe this was the case here?

Wow, I’ve never seen anything like that before. Now I know better & why its so important not assume I already know all the fine print and details. Thanks for pointing that out.

I just checked the original offer as reported by WDWMagic. There was no “book by” date for the offer, which definitely ran until Sept 30th.

Maybe try calling Disney customer service and see if they’ll allow your trip to be included? Doesn’t hurt to try. Worst they’ll say is no.

 So why the change… Curiouser and curiouser

I could be totally wrong, but I was one who took advantage of this(took advice from those here on this very forum about a month ago) and know another family that did as well. Maybe it got filled up? Also, there are renovations going on at Pop that might prevent less rooms for the discount. Hopefully it will be back, or something close to it soon.

I really think this has to be it.

Discounts are always a limited number of rooms across limited resorts. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

I think, too, there’s a tendency to think Disney has done something nefarious when they haven’t. I’m not sure why that is - or why people would continue to visit and support a company they were constantly feeling is trying to swindle them somehow. :person_shrugging:

Not usually the busiest times, but usually the least expensive. It is possible that Disney achieved what they were trying to do, though, and get more people to visit at a time when they typically have a lot of availability.

This is my thought too. No more rooms available with the discount so they have to stop advertising those dates, right?

I mean the only thing is that if someone cancels a room booked under the discount it should then be available to book under the discount.

This is a mystery we aren’t going to solve

True… It’s still very early in the year. They may advertise a new discount for late summer and fall.

You all are right about what I’ve run into with these “special offers”. I did try calling Disney’s customer service as suggested, but only got a very polite sorry, no can do. So wifey & I decided to book a stay in May at the POR resort, a place we enjoy & have stayed at before. And, Disney was running a special offer for POR for the dates we could go. But here is what happened after I did that and why I’m adding to this old post.

A couple of days ago I got an unexpected email from Disney with a Special Resort Offer for your upcoming stay”, complete with its own unique 8 digit offer code. It also showed up in My Plans when I logged onto MDE account. It was obvious when I checked into it that it was nothing more than a sales pitch to change my current reservation to other “special offers” resorts still with room availability for the dates of our stay, but only at a few (not all) DELUXE resorts. And obviously at their higher cost too. :money_mouth_face:

Some of you may have experienced something like this before, but it was a 1st for us in all the years we’ve stayed onsite at WDW. And no, I did not use this new “Special Resort Offer” as all those places (and prices) were the very same ones we passed over when I booked POR. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have not. Interesting. If you don’t mind me asking, about how far out are you from your trip?
