I’m planning to be at MK on a night with Extended Evening Hours from 9-11pm. Will I run into any trouble if I stay in the park after 9pm due to an ADR? I’m debating whether to get an 8:55pm ADR at Skipper Canteen. My other idea was to eat earlier and hop in a line at 8:55pm. Will CMs stop me from doing either of these things? What will happen when I get out of dinner / ride at 9:30-10:00?
If it’s like hard ticketed events you’ll avoid detection unless you try to ride, shop, or eat after the extended hours begin at 9. You’ll be fine at 8:55, and directed toward the exit at 9:01
Just to alert you that WDW just extended MK closing hour to 11PM for my travel dates (3/5 - 3/11), so Extended Evening Hours were pushed to 11PM - 1AM.
In December, they just started scanning bands/tickets at ride entrances at 9pm. We rode Dumbo around 8:55pm and then rode UTS probably at 9:01pm and they scanned our bands there. But they weren’t blocking entrances to the lands like they do at VMAH, for example.
In December, we ate at Be Our Guest on a Christmas party night. We were given bracelets showing we were dining guests so we were allowed to be in the park still. However, we had to wait for a cast member to escort us as a group to the front of the park (near the Plaza). Once there we thought we’d be allowed in the shops with our bracelets, but we were not.
So, for a hard ticketed event, I’d expect to just have to leave after dinner. They may not be near as strict for extended evening hours though.
When we were there for EEH a few weeks ago, they were not actively screening the crowd but were scanning at the entrance to every ride. Sometimes one person per party and sometimes each individual. I had the impression someone could wander or hang out in the hub and not be bothered but definitely could not do any attraction without being screened.
