Dining reservations... which order should I try to book?

On our upcoming trip my family would like to dine at Skippers Canteen, Le Cellier, Space 220 lounge, Hollywood Brown Derby & Yak & Yeti.

When my ADR window opens what order is best to to prioritize?

I’m thinking:
Space 220 lounge
Le Cellier
Hollywood Brown Derby
Yak & Yeti
Skipper’s Canteen

Space 220 lounge
Yak and Yeti
and then all the rest as they are pretty easy to get.

Space 220 lounge is difficult to get so make sure it’s late in the trip. A 4 top may be the largest table they have. I’ve had a three top once but the other two times were two tops.

We are a party of 3.

Thank for the tip of trying to book Space 220 lounge later in the trip.

  1. As other have suggested, push the more difficult to obtain reservations to later in the trip

  2. If you can’t get Yak & Yeti, purchase a Landry’s Card. The card all but guarantee’s you a walk-up table and you get the card fee immediately rebated on your first meal. This is because Landry operates Yak and Yeti, not Disney, and those are the standard Landry’s policies.

I’m not really sure which of the restaurants on my list are considered hard to get besides the Space 220 lounge that JenniferB recommended trying to get first. Thank you for sharing the tip about the Landry’s card

Right now I have the priority of:

Space 220 Lounge (on our 2nd Epcot day later in week)
Yak & Yeti

When making ADRs, if you have trouble finding one for 3, look for one for 4 people. It is never a problem to show up with fewer people for the ADR. As long as one person shows up, you will not be charged the $10 per person no-show fee.

I usually make an ADR for more than our number - usually only one or two more.

It’s always easier to decrease numbers. Who knows who you might want to include, on the spur of the moment.

This is true :sunglasses:

This is what you want for Yak and Yeti. You will get a credit for the one time cost of joining.

Our ADR day was Monday for an 8 night trip. There was not a single dinner reservation available for Y&Y. There were lunches for much of the trip though.

Good news is everything else was WIDE open and at our exact times. As discussed on the Disney Dish even same day availability is fully available. I emailed Len recently to point out the currently the Disney Visa is offering 10% off to almost all Disney owned restaurants. Historically it use to be only a few that were not typically in the parks.

When I was making my ADR’s for mid August, I wasnt able to find availability for 3 or 4 at Space 220 Lounge, but I did find availability for 2 and 1, so I went ahead and booked two separate reservations (2 and 1). What’s the chance they will be able to seat the three of us together? I figured worst case scenario, my husband or myself can sit solo, and the other can sit with DD16. Am I remembering correctly that they have a bar in there?

That should be doable. If you show up a bit early and ask to be seated together, they might be able to do that.

Yes, there is a bar, in addition to the tables. The lounge tables max out at 4 people.

Ok, great. If there’s a bar, I know my DH would be totally fine sitting at the bar if sitting together isn’t possible. You can order food from the bar, right?

Yes, sitting at the bar is like sitting at a table in the lounge in terms of ordering food. I’ve had the carrot cake!

This is good to know. I knew about using this ‘trick’ for larger parties but never thought it might be needed for a party of 3.
