Dining On Special Event Days

I am going to be at WDW during Christmas season. One of the days we are planning to go to Magic Kingdom is Mickey’s Christmas Party, so the park is closing at 6PM. I’m sure I read somewhere that even without tickets to the Christmas Party, I can make a reservation for dinner shortly before 6 and we’ll be allowed to stay in the restaurant beyond 6PM but we’d just have to leave the park immediately after eating. I can’t find that information now though. Can anyone confirm?

That’s generally how it works, but do be prepared to be ushered out after.

We just did this last night. We didn’t have MNSSHP tickets but a reservation at Crystal Palace at 6:15pm. As soon as the clock turned 6pm, we started getting asked if we had wristbands by any CM that saw us as we were trying to make our way to the restaurant. I had to have the ADR pulled up on my phone to keep showing to CMs. Then at the restaurant, they gave us yellow GUEST DINING wristbands. When we were ready to leave, a CM from CP led us to Main Street. She passed us off to another CM to escort us the rest of the way out, but she ended up just letting us go. Guess we looked trustworthy enough. But, I would do it again in a heartbeat for those party day crowds!

I wondered if this is how it would happen
