First trip planned to Disneyland!
We are Disney world regulars and usually only do one or two table service meals there, and skip buffets/character meals.
I’m looking for a few ideas for some sit downs for Disneyland. It will be me, DH and DD12. The menu can’t be too adventurous, we need a couple basic options for a 12 year old (not the kids menu). I’d love some off property ideas too!
Thanks!
We were just there from 12/24 to 12/31 with a party of 8 including 5 adults and 3 children. We all enjoyed the menu at Carnation Cafe in DL for both a mid morning sit down breakfast and another day for lunch.
There were 6 of us for dinner at Din Tai Fung in Downtown Disney and we all loved it.
The other table service that we did were character meals which you indicate that you are skipping.
Quick service in DL and DCA is quite good, so you don’t need many table service.

The quick service at DLR and DCA is very easy. But our favorite sit-downs are Carnation Cafe and Lamplight Lounge. Carnation Cafe has very good and basic comfort foods but Lamplight Lounge has somewhat of a limited menu so I would make sure you see things for anyone picky. The ambiance is AMAZING though.
River Belle Terrace and Cafe Orleans in DL and Wine Country Trattoria might be good, easy options for you to get the kind of menu you’re looking for, and they are all good options, for food and ambiance.
I would also look at Downtown Disney options to see if there’s anything there you like. It’s changed so much since we last ate there that I don’t know what I would recommend, but we have been thinking of trying out Blacktop and Earl of Sandwich has a sit-down portion. And I’ve heard only amazing things about Din Tai Fung.
